For those of us still waiting for the PAL release: if Amazon have got the boxart correct, then I love it. Love it love it. So simple, so appropriate.

WESKER!!!
Ok so maybe i should've seen it coming...still wouldn't be any less of a surprise though probably.
Amazing destroying the monster covered in liquid nitrogen with the rocket launcher, just lush.
Ada
though I did feel that whole first scene was kinda pointless.
Also,
killing the monster with the liquid nitrogen
is probably the most tense I've ever been in a game, ever. First time I cocked it up, second time I
froze him in the first room, did the business with the shotty, then kicked him down, then froze him in the corridor and whipped out the rocket launcher
.
Finally on disc 2 with about 11/12 hours play time. I've not been so driven to finish a game in a long long time. Onimusha 3 was good like that, but you can't compare the feelings at all. Resi 4 feels like its you in those situations, its intense and to be honest it all seems pretty rewarding.
I should be decorating the spare room today (I'm on a weeks hols) but I wonder how much of it will get done, I'm already glancing at the gamecube...

That's a great set-piece, then when the claw-guy drops down, you think "Ah, ****!" whilst being bombarded with arrows and the like from the bringer-types around the cage.

When the cut scene starts, as soon as the cage is being lowered, i pressed start to skip the cut scene...when it came back, "claw guy" wasn't there, just a few bringers in and around, piss easy in the end.

I am upto 2-2 I think now having put about 3 1/2 hours in or so.
I expected the pace to drop off a bit and it to settle back into the familiar stupid puzzle routine but I am very pleased to find it hasnt.
I dont play many survival horror games so many this shows my ignorance on them but I am very pleased it is more combat orientated than puzzle orientated. When in the kind of situation you are placed in in RE4 you would expect combat to play a major role. How could you ever keep a sense of believability to the proceedings if you were having to do inane puzzles ala previous RE games? This is Dawn of the Dead: The Game.
I am still being unsettled by this game - I never play it for more than about 30 mins - 1 hour at a time because I just find it too much to bear. By the end of the hour I am a nervous wreck and just cant take anymore.
I cant emphasise enough how this just isnt my type of game but despite that I am hugely enjoying this - so many things are just done so well that the package works. Maybe it helps if you go into the game without any pre-concieved ideas about what you expect from the game but just enjoy what it offers.

That happened second time round for me, but having left the room, then going back, he was waiting for me.

I dont think so Chadruharazzeb, but you can shoot weapons out of their hands - obviously that effects them!
I think once they have recovered from an attack (and reacted according to where they were hit) they effectively go back to normal but with less life, because if you constantly shoot someone in the leg they just die but still seem to be able to walk right upto the point before they die.
