right of way for the unknown

But of course if you have acquired the relant playing level by the time you get to mission 18 you would have already beaten the bosses once and learned their patterns, weakness and openings the idea is to watch, calculate, evaluate and then once you have learn't the pattern the continue option will be but a distant memory but i have been reacquainted with the continue option "since i started learning to mastering royal guard in Dante must die mode" eveything must be viewtiful parryed

Actually I agree now. Up to mission 18 (the goal of the day was to unlock the doppelganger!!1) and having previously struggled getting to mission 6, I found myself kicking some arse, but that was with swordmaster and quicksilver (cheap style). Which style do you think the pro player should use? Royal Guard?

BTW, the first fight with Vergil had me drooling the whole way. I found him easy, but he was so deadly with his Katana that he sliced up a nearby pillar in half. Can we not use Vergil's katana?

Beat all the missions today on normal setting. 2 player is pretty sweet. Especially when the 2nd player uses Vergil

Beat the game on Normal today; absolutely sublime experience.

                Especially loved it where...

Vergil joins the Arkham battle, loved that bit.

If it's anything like DMC1, when you complete it on Hard then you get Legendary Dark Knight outfit who has the katana (called Yamato).

Sadly, the LDK costume is just a palette swap in this game Everything else is the same old Dante. Oh well.

I have also finished this peach of a game on normal.
Man...this and Resi 4...capcom are making some of my new all time favorite games!

level 18 wasn't so hard after all

and that blob guy on level 19 was a piece of piss. I just air hiked then downward thrusted him till the ****er was dead...last battle with virgil was rather hard however...and the end credits were great, i only got 99 kills in time...don't think i killed the boss......one thing i REALLY REALLY like is that you keep your powered up dante when you attempt hard mode. i was a little aprehensive to tackle hard cuz i thought i would have to level up all over again. This way i just keep on playing and playing...hard mode is even more awesome and intense......LOVE this game

Yeah I got 99 too! I knew that Hell demon thingy would screw me once more (I got my ass kicked on my first try on mission 2 lol).

Did you get an extra ending after the credits? I got one, but I'm not sure if its any different when you get 100 kills.

If you get 100+ kills ...

you'll see an additional cut scene featuring Virgil and Mundus.

I just got this game and I'm having a pretty hard time so far. Would it be a good idea to buy DMC1 and play that first?

I personally fell that DMC3 eclipses the first one in every way making DMC1 largely redundant.

My advice is to stick with DMC3, keep on repeat playing the first 3 missions and get some of your styles to level 2 and buy some blue orbs to increase your health bar. the game starts of a little tough while you learn to ropes but as you play it more..it seems to even out difficulty wise.

It gets better and better the more you play.
think of it like you have to level dante up.
