All you need is practice. Learn one thing at a time. Play DMD to improve your reflexes! Makes Hard seem like a walk in the park!

Sliding from X to O is fine and dandy, but HOW ON EARTH do you slide from X to Triangle?!?

I also only found out about the DT release recently! Erm, last week in fact, as I started tackling hard mode. When I saw you lot discussing it I figured it was a RG thing.

For the Fallen this is where I find Nevan really shines, alternating between triangle and double O keeps you up and smashing their armour down, with an air-hike on the other weapon to get near them. Once the armours open you can use the pistols too.

It's difficult at first cos you may hit square by accident causing Dante to fir his guns. Practice using A&R in the air with X and O. I find it the easiest to do out of all the Severe Enemy Step Cancels! (But it ain't EASY!)

None of the stuff we talking about pulling off anymore is easy. The majority of people who played and even reviewed the game wont have opened up this level of action.

Were we even meant find it??

That's what I've been wondering, it would take some impressive planning to code this level of hidden flexibility intentionally, even more than it takes to execute the moves! I suspect the planets were just aligned in a certain way and the gods were smiling on Capcom, lol.

I was thinking on this the other day. By pulling off these cancels it seems like we are taking advantage of glitches in the gaming system. However, the fact that there is a challenge which requires you to stay airborne longer than your normal E&I recoil permits makes me think that the freaks at Capcom knew just that eventually people would be playing it like this. It would be great to hear it from them though

Oh, I was looking for that challenge but can't find it again, its the one with the timmer taht resets when you touch the floor. Want to pwn it now with Nevan Hover!!!

Believe or not these aren't glitches. The techniques (fundamentals) are mentioned briefly on the official JPN DMC3 website.

Even without the cancels and enemy steps the tools are there to carry out all tasks and defeat all the enemies. BUT, was this level of skill intended? Have the elite Dante players surpassed even the developers vision of what dante would become??

For me, its the first time a game has ever made me think about that and that just shows what this game is... its a benchmark, not visually but in terms of sheer gameplay.

Whether or not everything we can now do with dante was thought up in development one simple fact remains... nothing before has provided raw gameplay on this level.

Whether its by design or by the hands of fate, the "system" (As our man saur likes to refer to it) in DMC3 is revolutionary!!

Maybe I was still too green when I tried that challenge then. Can it be beaten using Trickster? I remember thinking "That's impossible, how can you stay off the ground for so long"...

Here's a really small vid showing a combo which uses the A&R, Revolver and Flicker cancels.

Trickster is prob the best method for it, but Rebellion and A&R in Swordmaster can give you some good air time aswell. Saur posted a vid a while back of his mate spending nearly the whole of mission 2 night club in the air, no nonsense, just perfect timing on air hikes and jumping on enemy heads. His trickster level 3 skills were pretty nasty aswell.

Use Rebellion aerial rave, switch to A&R for aerial slashes into E&I, back to Rebellion for couple slashes then air hike when get to low. Use this along with head jump can keep you up for a fair bit. Have yet to totally refine this but its a great Swordmaster method for air time, without need for cancels, just really fast weapon switching.

I think I'm just confused over the terminology that's used. Weapon switching and cancelling are part of the same process in my head as you need to switch weapons to cancel right?

Anyways, gonna find that challenge and pwn it soon

i think its cool that a game can come out that appeals to all skill levels at its most basic level its a fun game just defeating monsters.I am not to bad at the game i have got a few s ranks and stylish scores many times and i find it very satisfying.Just i do not have the mentality to dissect a game system down much as i would like to i dont have the time or the patience. How ever what i do love is watching vids of people who are great at the game.Appreciate dvds and clips are something i collect.

i noticed on the save there is a time showing how much hrs play time i have around 20hrs what have you lot got?
