As a fan of the two DC Gigawings (especially 2), i was really looking forward to this;
however the textures are woeful (ps1 quality in some backgrounds), the framerates abit choppy, sluggish control, hmmm music is not bad.
However it IS Gigawing and there are some rather nice effects.
It could improve with extended play, time will tell.Comment

The problem here is that like Mars Matrix, and unlike Gigawing 1 or 2, the graphics make it hard to see. A shmup is hard enough and should not be spoilt like this IMO.
Alien Humanoid was another like this.Comment

Can this game played horizontally and vertically, or just one or the other?
I thought gigawing games were played vertically, can someone please correct me if i am wrong, Thanks

Not quite - Gigawing 2 is full screen vertical. Gigawing Gen has orignal and Arcade modes - with orignal being wider and having no lateral movement.
I might also add that its offical the Mushimeshama is coming to the PS2, and G.Rev have a new shmup in the works, as you'll read about sometime soon.Comment

ok i got it today its nowhere near as good as gigawing 2 but its still a fun game also seems a lot more difficult than gigawing 2Comment

Hmm reading this you'd think this was a crap game,well i got this today and i love it! Blinking great imo,having said that ive only ever played gigawing before and didnt like it much. This however is much better than many of the heavyily touted ps2 shmups that ive played and id recommend it to all other than the highly picky amongst you. Yes the load times are there but no big deal.Comment

I may need to try this again I played it twice and hated it. Got this along with Samurai Aces and Steel Dragon Ex. It was not the shooting session I was expecting.
