Just picked this up after looking everywhere for it! It seems to be really popular here in Japan. Anyway, first impressions are really good. Gameplay is more or less identical to the original Spikeout and the graphics aren't that bad in motion. I've just had my first Live session and everything was really smooth and I couldn't really notice any lag. Back to the game, will post later.

Not played online - but I think the word to describe this is "bland".
Graphics are bland, sound is bland, gameplay is bland and bosses are bland.

I managed to get this too and i can't wait for the EU version. The game is awsome and rock hard. I can't honestly wait for the xbox live play. It even has vf moves. Min Hua = Akira
The combos are quite insane and at times it can play like an old school beat em up but it has quite a lot of depth too. I've only found out yesterday you can link combos to charge attacks but its best played on a stick. I played for hours on a xbox pad and ended up with serious finger strain.
Will people ever stomp comparing two franchises ?

But you're right Spikeout and SOR are completely different. I'm using a stick too as you have more control over your character. This game isn't for everyone but is a game that Spikeout fans have been waiting ages for.

Add amazon uk to that list, I preordered and it's awaiting stock there too.
I'm not sure if it's been delivered to any game shops yet, I had a quick scout around my local tesco and they didn't have it on display.
Maybe it's been put back a week because of jade empire coming out on the same day?Comment
