Single Player campaign beat on Hard last night. An absolute cracker of a story mode... tough but not frustrating levels, amazing set pieces and a some of the best visuals the XBox can muster. Each level, right up until the final act gives you multiple ways to carry out tasks and take out guards... it is a stealth playground. Once accustomed to Sams CQC techniques it is just so much fun. Credit has to go to the level design in Chaos Theory, as this is essentially what 'makes' the game. Every level, area, room and door is modelled to absolute perfection. Nowhere else will you see attention to detail on such a scale. Each mission is a game in itself offering the player countless ways to carry out there goals. Not once was I reminded this was a game. Everything looks, sounds and feels just as it should making the whole experience really immersive. I lost hours to this campaign thinkin it had been on for 20 minutes, it really does suck you in.
When the CQC of this game is mastered Sam can really kick some ass. There are just so many variations to his attacks. Coupling a Flash bang with some fast CQC moves left me with a huge smile on my face and dead bodies at me feet
in fact every move I succesfully pulled off made me feel great. Every move and control is rock solid and not once did the game let me down... if I got dropped it was my fault.
As with previous SC games there are some lovely set pieces to be enjoyed!! Disobeying orders and pulling pilots from a crashed plane before an air strike hits it a perfect example!! There is a little scene reminscent of the end of Snake Eater, after beating The Boss. Not handled with as much emotion but equally as enthralling!! There are others screaming at me but to tell would spoil to much
I aint even touched on the live play as I think my previous comments cover this. Chaos Theory has evolved from the best parts of SC1 and 2. It is the best looking game on the Box at the mo IMO and offers some of the best raw gameplay available. A beautifully solid experience and one that I will be going back to for weeks to come.
Your Country loves you Sam... but they can never know
