    Goldeneye Rouge Agent DS

Pre-ordered this from Videogamesplus seeing as I was tiring of the Metroid demo I got with my DS, and it arrived today and have been playing it alot.

I haven't played the Console versions because most places gave them bad reviews. Seeing as it is by EA I didn't have high hopes for it.
    Anyhoo,
When it arrived I opened it, stuck it in the game slot and turned on the ds etc.
The menu is pretty basic, Campaign, virtual training and options.

    Campaign -
The main Single player mode of the game, Same story as the console ones apperently.
Plays pretty smoothly and the visuals are pretty nice for the DS.
It seems slightly short, I've played for about 3 hours and it says I'm 71% through.
You start a level by a video showing then showing objectives then starts off the level. The levels are usually indoors, doors open themselves, weapons can't be found, you have to kill enemies to get them. You touch the weapon on the touchscreen to pickup weapons.
Weapons vary from: pistols, golden gun, shot gun, gatling guns, rocket launcher (all have their own names in the game) The types of enemies range from 2 types of guards one not armoured, one armoured. Small bosses, aircrafts.
Also you get upgrades to your "golden eye"

including one that lets you see enemies behind walls and boxes, another that lets you mess with mechanisms/machines/enemies guns.

The controls are pretty much identical to the default controls of Metroid prime hunters demo. Which I find great/superb!
What I don't like is that you can't carry more than one/2 weapons at a time.
Certain weapons require both hands and you can only carry it, where as other weapons only need one hand meaning you can hold 2.
If you get close to a guard you can stun them and then use them as a hostage, the other guards are stupid and shoot anyway so it's not very helpful.

I haven't been able to try out multiplayer due to none of my friends having a DS. I tried the single player version of the skirmish and you go around shootign hologram/computerized versions of someone, until you get the score limit. You start with 2 places unlocked but can earn more by doing virtual training in campaign mode.

For some reason you can't jump in this game dunno why.

Overall I quite like the game, probs not the best for single player due to limited gameplay but multiplayer could have potential.
Oh forgot to mention, the music is annoying and is on various levels. You can turn it down/off but that turns up sounds. Or you can just play with sound off, sound is far from needed!

Multi cart - upto 4 people, various modes etc.

EA have been a bit generous!

8 on single and 4 on multi? That makes no sense

Well 8 player skirmish is very limited, for starters you can't choose your character or Level, also it's skirmish only, no other mode.

Where as multi card has 4 diff modes/types of multi player games, everyone can choose a character, you can choose a level etc.

I have been hearing that this is dire and not worth ?9 let alone ?19.

Have you noticed any problems with the frame rate or graphical glitches?

the frame rate is ok for me, theres the odd glitch,

what i notice is they've been lazy and only used 4/6 different enemie models, every level has the same enemies bar one or 2 specific people in it.

Yeah that is another comment that the reviews pointed out aswell as the AI being not that clever.

Could someone change the title of the Thread: 'Goldeneye: Rouge Agent' do you apply make-up as one of the Goldeneye's special powers.

tried this last night. Quite surprised by how good the framerate is, and thats is so much better than the pixellated mess of GBA FPSs.

Couple of annoying things so far.

You can crouch by double tapping the down on the d-pad, but it only works 1 times out of 3 !

When you load the game it doesn't remember your music setting (i,e off !!), so you have to go straight back into options.

Pleasantly surprised by the game, but I've also got coded arms on order.
