I got this game a few days ago from play-asia for under ?10 shipped and thought i would post some impressions.
When you turn on and load the game you are confronted with the following options:
Quick Play
Career
Multiplayer (1 cart only required)
Tutorial (for all the games)
Options
Credits
After selecting career mode you get to select a random character or to create your own by giving him/her a head, body, hat, sunglasses ect.
In career mode you are an avid gambler trying to make as much money as possable by going arround the casino and beating the players at each of the games. Before getting this game i only knew how to play Texas Holdum but can play Dueces Wild and a couple of the other games thanks to the tutorial. As well as finding tables to play at you can also enter tournaments to try and build up your stack. So far i have only located a Texas Holdum tournament in the first casino.
The game features a mini town with 5 (i think) casinos each offering slightly better opponents and diffrent surroundings, however to get into the better casinos you need to beat set money requirements and have won each of the tounaments in at least 1 game. The game used the touch screen during each game to select your bet and make your selection (bet, fold ect). So far i am having fun with the game but then i do take an interest in the poker events on TV.
As well as the card games i have been informed 9but am yet to find) some pub games that are said to be on offer like air hockey, darts and a couple of others.
The game also features a quick play mode where you get the following options
Beginner
Amateur
Rounder
Card Shark
Once a difficulty had been chosen you get options to choose any of the unlocked games (10 types of poker, Video poker, Blackjack) and you are put into a quick round of your favourite game.
The game contains space for two diffrent saves fom career mode and these saves are auto so you just turn your DS off when you have had enough and you can pick up where you left off.
Overall i am finding the game very fun and the computer AI seams to be upto a good standard on each of the levels.
I would reccomend this game to any fan of poker or anybody wanting to get into the game.
