    Sengoku Basara

I picked this up today and have played it for about 3 hours after taking a break from DMC3.
It basically plays like Dynasty Warriors. The combo system is very basic but doesn't really need to be complex for this kind of game IMO. The square button is used to pull of a string of attacks. The triangle button activates a special move which can be switched between 2 using L1. As the game progresses the number of special moves that you can choose from increases. Finally, you have a Basara (Super) move. Your character can pull this off when the Basara gauge fills up after killing a set number of enemies. So by combining regular attacks, special moves and the Basara move, you can pull off some amazing looking combos with no hint of slowdown.
Also, the character design is brilliant! All of them are varied and are fun to play with especially the samurai in blue whose voice actor (I think) is the guy who does Mugen's voice in Samurai Champloo!!!
All in all, a very fun hack and slash game!

They are very similar I'd say. Thing is you can tell that this game is made by Capcom. It's got their trademark flair! There are a lot of different objectives to carry out during missions.

There's a lot of Japanese in the game but the objectives are pretty clear from the cut scenes so I reckon you should be fine. If not, just post here.

Saur, I reckon you'll like this.
Visually it's very stylish and it's the kind of game where you can cause death and destruction with the simplest commands. A good stress-relieving game!

There a lot of spaces for items, so yeah there's a lot of stuff to collect. Not too sure about different weapons though. I've picked up a new sword, but the only differences between that and the regular one is in the stats.

Last question are you ranked at the end of the level?

(i was told that this game was a cross betweend dynasty warriors and dmc)

                          Haven't noticed any rankings.
However, you level up according to how well you perform in the stages.

                            ok thanks thats pleased me

i loved dynasty warriors but i think number 5 was one sequel to far (and with little change)
Hopefully with capcom doing there own version (and probably much cooler). It should advance things on nicely

Sure,Japanese games heavy on txt in them are a good way to get used to and familiarise with the Kanji, along with the important Hirigana and Katakana, maybe worthwhile getting some Japanese course to go to,say evening classes or something.Just a suggestion for you,i started years ago when the SNES and Megadrive were out,and i have a private Japanese language tutor.
                              Go for it.....!8)
