Anyway thanks for some great impressions Venom. My neck is getting stiff from staring to the malbox but I guess it's not coming today. I heard there's several autofire options, did you try them out or do you use default settings ?
I think GWG uses the type X board too.

did you get the limited edition of mushihimesama?
Yeah I did.
The scoring system in Raiden 3 is simple but it works really well. Basically, the score multiplier is dependent on how fast you take out the enemies ranging from
X1 - 2 in increments of 0.1. So say you destroy an enemy right at the the top of the screen, your score for that will be muliplied by 2. It keeps you on your toes and forces you to react quickly just like the old Raiden games.

Good conversion! I was half expecting it to be a weaker port than Arika's Galuda/DOJ but it's not. Somehow different though.
The game *does* have a sort of shimmer/grain to it which will naturally makes it look worse than the arcade version but only up close and Tate. Resolution issues?
In it's favour it runs full speed with no dropped animation or detail I can see so far and at a proper Yoko ratio for once. In fact I think there *may* be slightly LESS slowdown on original L3. I'd like to see how it handles Ultra throughout but don't want to take myself further than I've been on the cab. There's loading at the start but the levels flow exactly like the arcade with only delays in Reko's comment. Impressive!
The LE is lovely, there's a gallery, left and right tate, and auto-fire options like the arcade version. Not sure about "arrange mode". After a brief play it seems to be ultra with full formation.
The game does fall short of Arikas conversions (especially DOJ) in terms of extras. No wallpaper, replay videos, replay saving, fewer options, no AST etc and there's no digital out for the audio, which is strangely quiet too.
Overall not bad at all though. It's the conversion that counts.Last edited by Super Monkey Balls; 22-07-2005, 17:17.

I'm really considering to buy this but it's shame that I've already spent hundreds of hours playing Ikaruga. It is still the best game ever so I doubt that Mushihime will keep me as hooked as Treasure's finest did. Mushihime, and Cave's shooters in general, looks very confusing after cool and sharp Ikaruga. And thoese bosses... well I hope there's many ways to beat them.
Why is Mushihimesama such a big hit in Japan? Is it deep enough to spend a lot of hours before mastering it like Ikaruga whose players are still far away from the two-year-old Japanese over-all score? It was so imberasing when you thought that you were good at the game and then saw how skilled the Japanese really were.
I have to remind that the Japanese player "VTF-INO" (a good nick) has been playing Ikaruga's Co-Op on his own for ages. His Chapter scores are much better than the best one player scores which is impressive. This man is a god like the Normal player T3-CYR-WIZ (the best Ika player in the world) and his mate SWY (the best Hard player). You can find them in the Appreciate DVD which is probably the only reason why we have the tactics we're using today.
