    Nanostray (DS)

Played for hour and a half and and first impressions; absolutely great, next step up from Iridion 2 on GBA, great graphics, normal shmup gameplay, touchpad for selecting weapons is bit fiddly to start with but will become second nature I'm sure.

Unlock stages in Adventure mode (three difficulty levels, Normal, Advanced & Expert) so they're available in Arcade Mode (which is Advanced difficulty by default - and cannot be changed) to be played individually for score attacking. There's bonuses for about 8 different factors at the end of stage for score attack heaven.

"Only" 8 stages but each takes about 4 mins to play through so far so just about right

Going to put some serious time in on this late tonight so any questions just ask, and expect to see all your scores over on http://www.nanostray.com/worldranking/

    EDIT:
Added forum name and leaderboard name table below so we can see each others scores on http://www.nanostray.com/worldranking/

    Forum Name .... Nanostray Name
    DavidHolliss ... David Holliss

How did you get it so quick? I'm well craven for this but I reckon mine's gonna take a while to get here.

VG+ and DHL, shipped Weds arrived today ?30 all in.

One really nice feature is when you pause the game you still get to see all the action unlike in say NFSU might sound minor but was so fooking annoying.

Advanced difficulty is quite bit harder, not tried Extreme yet, don't believe difficulty level has any bearing on your score by the way - just that your craft can take less hits and you get less lives.

I've been seeing you posting on the official Nanostray forums.

I'm eagerly awaiting this aswell. It's a shame someone's managed to hack the score tables already! But hopefully they'll keep on removing the hacked scores.

I'll be seeing you on there when my copy arrives.

I've only seen two reviews for this so far. One good (IGN) and one mediocre (1UP). But for ?19 from VG+ it sounds fair enough and if nothing else looks to be a nice technical demo of the DS hardware. Looking forward to playing it!

I knew I should've went for the DHL shipping! Seriously can't wait for this game. I know what you mean about it being a great example of what the DS can muster power wise, I showed my cousin the two trailers over at the official site and he ordered it 5 seconds after the second trailer ended. Keep the info coming fellas.

don't want to spoil anything for others but from level 4 upwards the difficulty increases even on Normal .... end of level bosses are good also, if you like Iridion 2 you will love this game.

                  Any multiplayer impressions?

Does it only require 1 cart?

I have a couple of friends with DS's. I'll be trying out the multiplayer the moment I get the game.

It's single cart ONLY, I believe. All the descriptions of the game say there's both co-op and competitive multiplayer, however as far as I understand there's only competitive, and not in the single player levels.

Yeah from what I've heard it's single only, no co-op, 4 multiplayer levels with varied rules: highscore after set amount of time wins etc.

don't think there is anything different with multicart - where did you get that impression ?

Seems Majesco have filed for bankruptcy (sp) so suggest you buy this now if remotely interested, some of the scores on the official rankings are fooking frightening only managed to complete three levels on the harder difficulty Arcade Mode, still loving it though.
