I don't even think I've had a single 'A' yet, never mind an 'S' rank.... My highest has been B's.... what do you have to get to an S?.... I'm guessing every hit must bee 300 points and not a single one missed.

I've had so much fun with this game... I still haven't done 'Ready Steady Go' on the middle difficulty level, so I haven't unlocked the highest difficulty level yet, but it's the game I've played most since I got my DS way back when. Really looking forward to Elite Beat Agents now.

I hope there'll be a sequel to Ouendan... I'd love to see what other J-Pop artists they could cover.

No misses, no 50s and more than 90% of 300s, IIRC.

BTW, After Ready Steady Go with Ryuta everything will be easier...or so it was for me, with more and more points to hit it's somewhat easier to follow the song's rhythm after the first try.

To get an S rank, generally the limit is 12 100's/50's or less and no misses, otherwise you drop to an A. Songs with 4 sections seem to allow a limit of 14 or 15, but don't quote me on that coz I've nothing scientific to back that up. Generally, aim for 12 tops and you're into S territory. But it won't show as an S in the score display in the options if you don't get the highest score, a complication which arises from how the points combo system works, depending on where you cock up. There's a great score FAQ on GameFAQs that can help you out on that score.

briareos_kerensky: For me, playing through easy mode and getting to know the songs themselves, rather than the patterns, really helps. I've downloaded the OST too now, which is available from various places, that's immensely helpful. There seems to be an interesting underlying theme of being in love, or very mildly angsty love songs, which is great.

Also as previously mentioned, after playing and finishing hard mode (with the standard 'mostly B' rating) I find normal mode to be a piece of piss, soooo easy, but still fun with it.

I'm up to the 8th rank at the moment, need to get another 5,000,000 or so points to get to rank 9 which is likely going to mean going at very hard mode with some conviction, as points given are higher on higher difficulties. Apparently, beating the game on very hard and getting the highest rank will both earn you a special picture, but they seem to be the only rewards. And very hard mode doesn't **** about either.

Oddly, I'm utterly rubbish at all other rhythm action games, even pad stuff like Parappa and Vib Ribbon, but I'm still loving Ouendan after a few months. Can't wait for the Western version!

Gah!..... After weeks of sporadic playing, I've finally done Ready Steady Go! on 'Normal 'difficulty to unlock 'Hard'.....

This game has managed to hold my attention for longer than any I can remember in recent times.... The hard difficulty setting seems even more fun
