Although Burnout 2 is the king, burnout 3 was a refreshing experience to play. If EA didn't suck knob online for console gaming i'd probably be still playing it.

    Shame really.

Burnout 3 is THE definitive arcade racer. The racing aspect is still there but it's overshadowed by the takedowns i'll give ya that.

Regardless,BO3 is so,so,so addictive it's hard to fault.

BO3 is incredibly easy to fault, As a pure arcade racer it fails by the convoluted design.

I managed to play the Burnout Revenge demo this morning and its either just totally pointless as it requires no ability whatsoever now or its just not fun at all.

Its a great game but you have to agree once you get to the 90%+ mark it gets a big dodgy

i just gave up and i wasnt even close to some of the tasks i had left

think i finished on 94% or something like that

Unless you own an internet connection.

According to this month's Official Xbox mag the Revenge demo will be on next month's demo disc (out 2nd Sept)

Still a while away but at least it'll give people caught in two minds a chance to 'try before they buy'.

For those who have this, and are running from the hard drive, there is a patch out which unlocks a further 4 'hidden' cars for use in the demo which apparently handle differently so they arent just skins.

After trying this, it's dropped off my list. I was worried when I read about the use of other cars to cause the rivals to crash, and my fears were fully justified. All of the skill of driving has now been eliminated and you can just plow through all of the traffic, with the exception of trucks.

                            -Yawn-

A real shame, as the course which you race on in the demo has a number of alternative routes. If they had integrated this with the gameplay of the last game then they'd have been onto a winner. Alas, this will now give even more ammunition to those saying that EA ruin every game they get their hands on.

Agreed. The best bits in any Burnout game for me was risking life and limb by driving headlong into traffic, trying to chain the boosts, knowing that a slight slip in concentration sees you clipping an oncoming vehicle and heading headfirst into the nearest wall.

Now thats all but removed, it feels a lot like Burnout-Lite to me.

I don't mind it, I've always found BO2 & 3 really difficult to see whats in front of you. I'm glad I can shunt a few cars off the road.
