    Puchi Copter 2

Arrived today, played for a couple of hours.

It's a bit rough around the edges but the helicopter flying is ace. There's a challenge mode consisting of a load of set pieces, an adventure mode where you collect stars from around the house and then free flight to fart around.

In challenge mode you pick your challenge and the loading screen appears. You are in control in the very first frame after the loading screen flicks off, and the challenges are against the clock No "3,2,1, GO!" here.

To begin with I was all over the place, but now I'm starting to weave through cupboards and footstools with some kind of control. All the helicopters feel different, from the mini bubble ones to the hurking great dual rotor beasts.

Can't find anything on the web about it, (in english), but I'm glad I went for it, it's cool.

Does anyone know the difference between the standard and limited editions? as the price difference only seems to be ?5.

Interestingly Yes-Asia have both editions and the Limited One is twice the price of the normal one. For the normal edition the game is under ?28 at Yes-Asia with free delivery wherea Play-Asia chage over ?34 plus delivery.

Play-asia also charge ?38 for the limited edition whereas Yesasia charge over ?55. The price differences have been crazy recently, Yesasia have been selling the limited edition of Mushihime-sama for ?55 compared to play-asias ?35. Yesasia seem to think they can charge well over the price for limited edition sets. Although buying them from Play-asia is alot cheaper, you now face customs charges which means in the end, Yesasia's price is probably just as reasonable :S.

Anyway, the difference between the limited and normal sets? and if it isnt the inclusion of a controller, how the heck do you get one?

Play Asia is about ?44 with postage so the Yes-Asia price (free postage) is not that outrageous then with Customs.

What are the environments like, big, detailed, varied, fun to explore?

I just managed to hold off on buying this last week from japanpa, hoping someone would come through with some details.

Well, it's subtitled "Indoor Helicopter Adventure" and as such all the environments I've seen are indoor rooms. Although I did fly close to a wall which then clipped out and revealed 'outdoors', didn't get a good look as my rotor blades were no longer attached and I was dying a death...

Adventure mode is set in a house and you collect stars to unlock doors. It's quite difficult to find all the stars in a room. You press R1 to bring up an aiming cursor and let go to perform actions when it's over an item. This lets you open cupboards/washing machines, etc... Some item reveal clues as to where stars are in other rooms. If you crash then you lose all the stars you collected in that room. Much swearing is to be had here as you clip your rotor on the bastard stool AGAIN just as you collect the last star in the room... Of course, with its no-frills approach, the second your dead copter comes to a rest you're back flying again. No countdown, no nothing

The main point of the game is to thread your copter through ridiculously tight spaces, over and over again. It's ace and I'm steadily becoming a hovering ninja

the limited ediition contains a crappy model helicopter

yeah i noticed myself about yesasia charging too much, not just limited edition but general box sets.

they overcharge and list fake rrp's for boxsets like the taiko drum with a game, pop'n music 11 with controller, and the densha de go type 2 controller.

the prices seem to be cheaper on the us site, so they are obviously adding the extra due to customs., but they go a checky way of doing it.

The model is a 1/144 RAH-66 Commanche, like this.

Yours for ?27 from Yes-Asia and a fiver from Play-Asia.

Must admit to be tempted by this for some reason. I had serious problems with that RC helicopter game on the PSX. Is this like a radio control sim, or can you get an "in cockpit" view?

There are three views: follow cam, loose follow cam, (bit like what you'd see if you were stood in the room), and in-cockpit cam.

Sounds interesting. The PSX game I played had effectively the loose follow cam. How many helicopters are there in the game?
