No, are they in Chapter 1?

I have a couple of combat mages, nature mage and the ranged combat character. Do they require a specific level of the relevant attribute or a specific character class. One restriction was the room at the Elven Shrine which required Level 6 Nature Magic. Or another door that required a ranged attack to open.

I have better than level 10 on Ranged, Nature and Magic between the four characters and Level 4 Melee which I will work on tonight.

Think there is a few areas in the map for chapter 1 but the actual quests dont start until chapter 2

You get to talk to ghosts in chapter 2 so make a note where you find ghosts and the nearest chant shrines to them

Bit late for some of the ghosts.

Last night I got the Dire Wolf for the Pet Shop.

Spent a while in that dungeon with the imprisoned Blacksmith.

By then my lead character was Level 13 (now Level 8 Melee and Level 11 Combat Magic with armour of 79). I killed the Level 24 enemy with no problems and was working my way through all those Level 22 things using hit and run tactics. Had killed about 10 or more and was going to save... I died... Will try that again tonight, making sure I save a little more often. Might be able to gain another level before getting there, which would help.

I can't actually recruit one at the moment due to having a full party (I used a mule to good effect in the original Dungeon Siege). I just did the sidequest to unlock the Dire Wolf (which is apparently rather useful for fighting).

For some reason I was doing well last night and so didn't get into the habit of saving too often (I was saving more frequently as I took my mage off solo to try to build up her Melee skills). I got to Level 6 and then found some armour (in that area with all the Level 22 things so I lost it). It required Melee Level 8 and was rated at 48. As I think that Combat Magic is going to be the most useful I may have to forego that.

I only dedicated my warrior combat mage to be good at two things.Every one else i knew specifically what i wanted.Like the nature mage for instance i just want her to heal and use support magics. And her equipment reflects that loads of bonuses to nature magic and mana. But lousy defense fortunetly she stays far back.
My main character is a melee king have a few set items that give very decent bonuses +30 to strengh along with several other items that give more strength.

Archer was a tough one have choice to go to either crossbows/bows or throwing items like blades can be a tough one to call.I put alot of points into crossbow skills. But then came across a set item throwing blade which does pretty good damage (around 40-72 i think) now i am putting points into the throwing blades in the hope i find more items for that set

My Nature Mage has been set to produce a Raptor automatically. With those Level 22 things it proved useful as they sometimes seemed to concentrate on it and I could stand at a distance hitting them.

I am in two minds over a crossbow. It is harder hitting but slow. I have a normal bow that was getting about 10 hits against a Level 24 enemy. But it was getting shots off very rapidly. I also carry a crossbow, though I have yet to try it.

I suppose I ought to get my big character to do melee, but he is Level 12 Combat Magic now. All my characters use ranged attacks mostly and can easily dispose of Level 14 enemies.

What are the stats of your characters now?

My Level 13 character is probably around 45 on strength and 48 on Intelligence (depending on what items I have added to it). She has around 250 HP and 350 Mana I think.

I used a couple of items on a ring (at last). Which ended up with one of my lesser characters. Not tried any of that on other items yet. May have to try to upgrade my bow.

One thing i do know is that even though the skills show a maximum of 36 they do go higher my main character is at 39 for melee

Managed to clear the "Blacksmit Dungeon". Disposing of the Level 24 enemies with my Level 15 (or so) characters was "fun". Some extensive use of "hit and run" tactics. The Level 22 ones eventually got to be an easy kill with the whole team!

I hope there was a save just before I went to the desert as I can't remember where I saved. I got the sequence to enter the "locked" area of the Crypt which the statue requires on my third attempt... using guesswork. I hope I noted them correctly when I died... completely (hence the worry about a save). It was the Level 28 enemy that finished me off (I'd already killed one!!). I was up to Level 17 or 18 on my main character with I think Level 12 Melee and Level 13 Combat Magic. HP and Mana were both around the 350 mark.

Do you find the skill attacks useful?

Skill Attacks? Are those the icons at the bottom centre of the screen? Not sure how they activate (though I did manage to get a highlight around the cursor once!

They are essential there really damaging.

Depending what skills you have they have to build up when there ready to use click on them.My melee character has a mega attack. You left click on the icon and his next attack he does will be mega damaging. My archer has a super attack left click on the icon then aim the cursor in the direction you want the shot to go then right click.Mages attacks use the same method as the archer
