    PSP Bleach 2

Haven't seen a First Play thread for this yet, so here goes:-

If you've played the first iteration of the fastly growing-in-popularity anime, then Bleach 2 is more of the same, albeit with a few new characters (and a selectable Renji) thrown into the mix. Visually, the game follows it's predecessor; aesthetically striking and well-drawn.

The combat mechanics remain virtually unchanged as well; a 3D fighter with maybe too much freedom to roam around an area? It's far too easy at times to "turtle" from your opponent and attempt to keep them at bay with projectile attacks, with the only real solution to dash at your opponent, bobbing from left-to-right, trying to catch them off-guard and getting a hit in.

The game boasts an easy to use control system with the analog nub, which will see you stringing together 10-hit combos sooner rather than later. The obligatory Super Moves make a welcome return as well and actually look quite spectacular in places especially newcomer Toushiro's swirling dragon-like move.

Another familiarity from the previous outing is the card-system. The same system has been employed where-by after each battle, you are awarded a certain amount of points, you then use these points to buy cards from the in-game shop until a quota has been met, which will in-turn, unlock one of the extras.

There aren't many fighters on the PSP at the moment, so it's fairly academic that this is currently the best one on the hand-held at the moment. It's not a bad effort; solid enough and decent enough fun. Although, if you've got the first one, then it might not be worth your wonga since there isn't that much inherently different bar a few new unlockables and characters.

Is the game much of an improvement over the first outing?

The first one was lacking in most areas. The character line up was very limited, the load times were quite long, the gameplay was very very basic (not in a Naruto good way either).

Just wondering how it compared to the first one and if its worth shelling out the ?30ish if i have the first one.

      Not really IMO mate.

Bar a few new characters, the core of the game remains very much unchanged, not really worth the money if you've already got the first.
