    Ikusa Gami ps2

    Controls

    X button :defend
    Square button:normal attack
    triangle button: lethal attack
Circle button :create a magic pillar (magic attacks)
    R1:release spirit power
    L1:change camera view
    R2: lead party on/off

I bought the asian version from play asia its cheaper and comes with a english operation sheet.

Had a quick blast of this the combat is great fun.Though i suspect it will get reptetive later but at the moment i am enjoying it.

There is a yellow bar that is used to charge your lethal attacks also you can activate spirit power.

When spirit power is activated things go a bit nuts wading in to a swarm of enemys killed around 1000 in under 20seconds.

At the moment there is a few basic combos it mentions a few different combos in the manual but i am not quite sure the technique on how to do them.

As far as the language barrier goes there is a LOT of japanese all the menus are and there is quite a few menus. Also when you have completed a level it seems quite a lot of things are judged before you get the final rating.

It appears there are weapons to pick up and items though i have not got to test any out yet.

The battles appear quite epic when you have thousands of enemys coming from many directions (also with your allies fighting aswell)

Played a bit more last night tried some other weapons one had a cool attack which rains down arrows on the enemy. Also i found a time attack where you have to kill as many enemies as possible in 3 min.Its quite amazing when you see thousands of enemies on screen at the time and your just wading through them.

The create magic pillar button i have worked out how to use it there are three pillars which you can get your allies to build. One heals anyone nearby another fires arrows down on the enemy and the last one chucks out these fireballs there pretty handy

    Any questions please ask

ive been looking forward to this game for a while now, let us know what its like once youve played more ok.

Who needs kameo's paltry 15,000 troops when the (supposedly) now defunct ps2 can chuck 55,000 of the ****ers at you eh

Played it more i am stuck on the second level

I just have no idea what to do there is a target your supposed to get to but it just will not let me pass through the gates and wave upon wave of creatures come after you.

I still have one or two more things i can try but its seems just killing all the creatures as they come just wont do

Actually tried one of those score/time attacks Its amazing i think it has all 65000 odd in play and you just wade through them.

Think i might take screenshot of it just seeing the amount of monsters on screen is amazing

Im seriously thinking about buying just for the visuals and the sheer volume of enemies on screen at any one time.

Shallow I know but I think its a must see, the pictures alone look very impressive.

One thing i forgot to mention

The X button cancels whatever combo you are doing into a kind of forward roll (which hits enemies to) but straight afterwards you can start the combo again and repeat. So really you can keep up a constant stream of attacks.

Also there appears to be 99 weapons to collect collected 4 at the moment

Really hope a faq comes along with a translation for the stats for the weapons and for mission objectives

          Figured the problem out

Something to do with the magic pillars you have to place them so they absorb enough energy so you can enter the area

Where you walk there is littl circles appear on the floor the colour indicates how much energy is there

Have been playing it more over the weekend

Have tested out some more weapon i can say the tope stat is for weapon power and the bottom stat is for character speed

There is more strategy here then i thought. The magic pillars if you put them on ground that has energy flowing it sends energy to your power bar.

The troops are what make the pillars so if you command them to stay back and place pillars down on the way to the enemy. Then just before you reach the enemy command the troops to move forward everytime the build them you get more energy for your mega attacks or to go into super mode.

If you time it right every time your energy is about to run out it gets boosted when they build the pillars

I think my only complaint so far is the enemy spawning crystals only troops and pillars can damage them you cannot hit them your self

I'm still waiting for my copy of this, thought it had arrived (ended up being Killer 7), looks alright though as it goes, hopefully offering something a little different to Devil Kings.

Oh yeh its a different game to devil kings

cannot really say what game its closest to but There is a hint of otogi in there

Its amazing when you see just a huge swarm of enemies coming towards you......Oh thats one thing thats amazing unlike dynasty warriors there is no pop up you can see monsters on the otherside of the map

Wonder if they use that messiah game technique where when there further away they use less polygons but they are built up more the closer they get

How is the music? Like what kind of music is it, and do you like it?

Just an FYI for anyone who's interested, Famitsu gave this game a 31/40. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but I've heard that Famitsu is very critical when it comes to reviewing games.

                        Music seems very varied

Some tunes remind me of soul calibur a few sound a bit zelda like

opening tune best way i could describe is a traditional japanese style tune with a bit of rock guitar thrown in

oh yeh the opening anime sequence is pretty good

Thanks for your reply! Is the music in any way similar to that of the Dynasty Warriors series? I've never played any of the Soul Calibur games, but likening the music to Zelda music makes me think that it probably isn't very similar to that of the DW series.

There is the odd tune that reminds me a bit of dynasty warriors.

But then again i am only up to around level 7 at the moment and so far many tunes seem to remind me of different games....heard one that sounds a bit like onimusha
