If thats the Klompa boss in the Arena, then fear not for you are not alone. Been stuck there for ages, read the gamefaqs, seen the videos for it on stuckgamer.com and still can't get past it. At first it was because I wasn't getting the visual clues, but after getting to the same point from a different save (moral of the story, always keep a relatively fresh separate save points on ubisoft games kids!)point and although I now get the visual clues like the blade flashing in the light I just can't do it. Found Warrior Within much more forgiving in that aspect. I've had to turn the sound down just cause I'm sick of hearing the same speech. Its enough to make you want to hurl the pad at the wall tbh!

So its cutting at his feet thats the problem?

If it helps, start a game on easy, i think its more forgiving on both the speed-kill timings and amount of fighting of enemies. It makes the game much more jumping orientated, but yeah ones hardcore gamer status might be comprimised

The more I play this the less I like it. The combat is just so incredibly tedious, I wish they'd remove it from this series entirely. And the dark prince stuff... FFS, come on Ubi, get out of the teen-angst **** you did in Warrior Within. The constantly ticking down health mechanic is nothing but a fun removal device, forcing the player to rush and not take in the surroundings. (which was a big part of enjoying Sands of Time).

I'm close to giving up on this game. It's so full of absolutely terrible design mistakes and is more frustrating than fun to play now. I really wanted to like it, hoping it would be a return to form, but alas I feel it hasn't really managed it. Better than Warrior Within for sure... but still... a bit pants.

The only way I managed to that it in the end was to make a mad dash for him as soon as the blocks appeared, making sure to hit him before he moved from his starting location to another pillar. It was the only way I could do the second speed kill part without having a pillar smash into my face as soon as I landed back on the floor.

His third form was even more of a pain in the ass though

Wait until you run into a game-destroying bug

After a crappy start I thought the game was picking up a bit once i got the sands of time dagger thingy because once you find it you dont have to hack enemies for twenty minutes untill they die. But then all this crap with the dark prince starts and the combat never seems to end (which i thought they had corrected?)...

I'm getting fed up with the stealth kills too becuase I don't seem to have the reflexes or somthing and this is one heck of a messy game alright, It just feels so slung together without much thought at all, and I dont know, sands of time was so good, I can't even belive how the series could end up here.

Still everytime I do actually get to run along a wall, swinging and leaping about i am reminded of that magic gameplay of SOT a bit... so unless I run in to one of these bugs I'm hearing about I probabaly wont give up quite yet.

I just reached the first boss I think, some big grumpy looking thing who was playing with his sword. But that annoying bright light coming from the princes arm hurts my eyes if i play the game for more than 10 minutes at a time so I thought I'd try that bit later.

I am in the sewers at the moment, having recently aquired the dagger and I have just turned back into the prince. The platforming is fantastic still, but I hated the combat in the first one, I really hated it in WW, and now its back. FFS. Why couldn't they look at DMC3 and see how to do combat nicely? It's just so boring and unthoughtful. The animations and collisions are so glitchy too, and I really think fast combat needs to be 60fps - imagine Devil May Cry at 30fps - awful.

I just want the game without all the combat ****e.

SO how long is it taking people to finish? I completed both the previous games, so I am guessing a similar time to Warrior Within?

I'm up to the boss fight where you fight two big guys one has an axe and the other guy has a sword and I cant seem to hurt them at all, so I think I'm just gonna snap the game in half or somthing and give up on this glitchy sluggish nonsense soon becuase Its giving me a headache.

If i do decide to try and finish it though, can someone please tell me.... how the hell do I hurt them????

                      rmoxon...

You have to attack the one with the sword, in order to lure the one with the axe closer to you. Then, when the axe guy attacks, jump (or roll) out of the way and attack the axe guy, who's weapon will be stuck in the ground. Just be careful of the sword soldier who'll attack you from behind whilst your walloping the axe guy.
