Popped into my local Smiths today and they are currently doing two DS games for ?45, which includes Super MonkeyBall.
I'll rather have a Jap or US version with a nicer box though, but can't complain at that price.

I've been playing this for the past week or so. Initially I wasn't too impressed with the control, or the camera, but I stuck with it and it's really grown on me.

It's certainly not perfect, I could make a pretty big list of all the niggles I have, but it's managed to capture that just one more go monkeyball magic. And the graphics engine.. nice work chaps. Aside from the crappy monkey sprite it really looks high quality, all at 60fps and with DS edge anti-aliasing making it all look very neat and tidy.

If you can get this at a decent price I'd say it's a good buy.

US version is ?18.99 from Movietyme. I don't think they have any in stock at the minute because they haven't shipped my order yet but hopefully they will do soon.

Spanish price update!! At Alicante airport this game was the most expensive DS game in the electrics shop. The price was a reasonable 64 euros. SHOCKING

I've been playing this recently and I still cannot decide whether or not I like it. The controls almost work using the touch screen but just don't feel right so I've resorted to the D-pad, you get lives seemingly for just showing up and the unskippable and very rubbish credits game was a misguided addition. But on the other hand the gameplay is still there, it looks amazing and I actually prefer the new music to that found in either GC game. It is not as good as the original, but then I never thought it would be and the lack of a story and switch levels (so far anyway) means I am enjoying it a lot more than SMB2. I guess I'll just have to keep playing it to decide whether or not it is actually any good.
