Wee bump since I just got the official guide book and thought others might be interested.

Has level maps, enemy info, developer interviews etc, even sheet music! Japanese obviously, but still a nice item for Gradius fans.

Its full playable without any japanese language skills, iirc its 99.9% in english.

I actually don't think there's any Japanese in it at all apart from the save/load option.

I liked Gradius V, but Gradius 2/Vulcan Venture has always been my fave. A local videogame shop used to have a few coin-ops in and that was one of them...piled ****loads of cash in to that baby.

That shop didn't happen to be Software Superstore in Stockport did it?

Yes, on an almost daily basis. To the best of my knowledge, I was the only person who went there who could complete Vulcan Venture. If you ever watched someone complete it there, it was almost certainly me!

I also completed (at the same shop) Vigilante, and Shinobi! That place was the mainstay of my teenage life! Oh, that and Roddies.
