This sounds really good, then. But which one should I buy? XBox for the best graphics on the big TV? PS2 so I can use my wheel? PC for the online, and hope that Starforce doesn't bugger up all my DVD writing software?

I did this with TRD2 for so long I never actually bought the game.

Assuming you have an FF wheel, get the PC version (cheapest too). I'm afraid I won't entertain an Xbox driving game if another version exists with FF support. The PS2 version isn't that far behind either, it is not like TRD2 versions and has all the online features (voice chat too!). It's a very, very capable game regardless.

      TRD3, get!

How is the performance on the PC version compared to the demo release? I'm more than a little concerned that my little machine is going to struggle with the game, but if it runs ok and that's what I can expect from the full thing I'll do that.

I'm not sure I follow you mate. The demo ran fine on my PC with everything on, the full game runs fine too. I guess if it struggled with the demo then I'd go for the PS2 version.

26 quid at Amazon for the Xbox version, a damn fine price, gonna order it once I get paid.

Thanks Marklar - all I was wondering was if the full game was a lot more demanding than the demo, because I had heard there were a lot of other changes between the two. I'll install the demo when I get the chance and see how it runs.

I am part of a PC TOCA 3 league now over at DVD Forums and we had our first practice night last night.

Really superb fun was had by all with absolutely no lag. We had 11 out of the 12 spots filled for most races. In terms of the black flag - it can be set to give the right balance of warnings over actual punishment I think.

The spectator mode also works a treat so you can watch a race whilst waiting for the next one to start. The chat system is also much improved over TOCA 2 in that you can be in the chat lobby when the race starts.

I will say so far that this is the best online racer I have ever played.

How many of you are playing this on Xbox Live? What do you think of it?

                  I can't quite decide if I'm honest.

I think you're a very honest fellow PS2+PC version 'ere. If you want to play online, any version will do. Just depends who else is on Live I suppose. Me? I couldn't care less

Errr ok, I was more wondering about peoples opinions as to how good it is. I find it's mostly lag free but it seems to serious struggle with cars suspension which gives a horrible comedy effect, and they all seem a bit "juttery" when racing about Sort of ruins the feel a bit I think.

Not come across that. It's fine so far and there's mention of it being alright in the thread. Sounds like a problem with your connection.

I had a problem with a shaky picture last night. Admittedly it was only 3 star connection. I had no problems before.

Was there a problem connecting with this last night? I tried for about half an hour but lost interest. PGR2 seemed to connect fine though so there didn't appear to be a general problem with "Live".

Don't know mate, but there were definately people on my friends list playing it at around 5-6.30 yesterday. Was it later than that?
