More detailed impressions are needed, this is next on my play list once Syphon Filter has been completed

Typical, you wait ages for one decent PSP game, and three come out at the same time! My bank account is going to feel the punch big time!

As far as I know this is out here today but there aren't many impressions here. Anyone who has had it a while care to add more to this thread before I fork over cash for it?

well, what to say... aside from its very enjoyable

Plenty so see and do, easy to grap gameplay mechanics, has more platforming then shooting although there are some shooting sections.

The graphics are fantastic, very fluid animations - top notch. probably the best on PSP.

Gameplay has some nice breaks, such as using viehicles and such, towards the end - some of the objectives feel repetitive - but that can be said for all jak games beforehand.

overall - I enjoyed it lots but Syphon Filter remains my PSP pick.

Hmmm...see I've never played a Jak & Daxter game or a Syphon Filter so I'm sort of choosing blind on both of those. Daxter sounds like purely a fun game and that might just suit where my head is at right now.

fair enough - but Syphon Filter is probably my favourite handheld game of recent memory

Jaxter is a great game IMHO. I have really enjoyed the game since picking it up on it's US release a few weeks back. The game has a real "Old School" flavour in the platforming levels but mixes this well with modern exploration.

The graphics are fantastic with Naughty Dog pulling off all sorts of tricks with the PSP.

I can't reccomend this game enough as it really is one of (if not the best) games on the PSP at the moment.

I've had the yank version for a while, and it really is good. The platforming elements are more like Jak & Daxter 1, or what i remember of them, and has more modern elements too. Once you're in a mission its fairly linear, jump and fight from A to B, collecting bits on the way. When not on a mission theres more exploration. Timed vehicles sections and on-rail sections can involve a bit of trial and error. I think alot of developers would have been happy to make this game for a proper console, so total kudos to putting it on a handheld!

Not sure on the longevity, but total blast to play. Oh did people catch some of the innuendos? Above the heads of young 'uns, hopefully, as i spat out some drink when Daxter was talking to the barmaid it was that funny/lecherous.

Just starting playing this and I have to say I'm very impressed. The production values are very high and it really shows what can be done when a game is built around the PSPs strengths and weaknesses.

Erm, has anyone completed this with all the Eggs/Yellow Gem things (I forgot the names obviously)..

I've just completed it with about 84%... Is it worth going through and getting the rest (ie: for a better ending etc)..

It wasn't made by Naughty Dog. Ready at Dawn developed and programmed the game.

I have 95% done, with 11 combat bugs. I wouldn't imagine there's another ending, because you can go back in after the story is finished to get what you missed before.

Ah well, I thought that they would follow the pattern with the PS2 Jak and Daxter games and have a different ending if you 100% completed it.

Well, the 100% won't happen, as on the 'Strip Mine 2' level there 2 bugs that just dissappear when I run up to them, or kill them. And they don't release the gems.. So that's a bit **** then.
