    ==============================
I'm surprised no ones mentioned this yet!
I've been playing the Xbox version and it's not bad at all! Not played all the games yet and some I'm not familiar but of those that I am familiar with, feck it brings back real memories.
From ****e games like 'I ploughed loads of my money in' Violence Fight to 'ace for it's time but not so now' Footie Champ to the frustrating delights of Puzzle Bobble 2 and Cameltry.
There really is something for everyone here.
One thing I have to mention is the amount of not bad shooters in there like Darius Gaiden, Gekirindan, Insector X, Rayforce. This compilation also includes the insanely overpriced Saturn shooter, Metal Black.
All in all, I have to admit for ?19.99 this is a real bargain!

Nice one Phil - I'll get my pile of trade-in trash ready to dump down at Gamestation in two weeks time.

elevator action returns is worth ?19.99 on it's own - all those other games are a big, delicious bonus.

I quite puzzled to why the Taito Legends compilations lack Arkanoid and Chase HQ...

Woah, i didn't even know Taito Legends 2 was being released.

There are some amazing Saturn games on that disc.

I'm defintly buying, thanks for listings all the games and bringing it to my attention.

                  EDIT - Woah ?9.99 at Play.com

Also according to Eurogamer - 60hz Mode Included

I cant speak for Arkanoid, but it would be too expensive for EMpire/Xplosiv to attain the licence for the porcshe, lamborgini and other licencesed car that was in the game. It's the same reason why none of the lightgun games in the first one offered support.

Let's face it, the whole idea of these compilations is to make easy cash, and if youve suddenly going to have to start shedding out extra cash, it's not going to be worth it.

Puzzle Bobble 2 is worth the price alone, Elevator Action Returns does have it's charm, G Darius is extremely replayable, Space Invaders 95 is quirky and quite nice (alltough the graphics feels kind of squashed), Cameltry is a really good and unique puzzle game and Bonze Adventure have it's moments. But 6 good games out of 39 isn't really impressive. The oldest games in the collection, the ones from about 1979-1985 (or something like that) is totally crap. Crazy Balloon - Come on, it wasn't even worth to load up the ****ty thing. Worst spent two minutes of my life (dagens i-landsproblem). And I think it's pretty weak of Taito to have produced so many Bubble Bobble-clones as they have. Doko Doko Don, The Fairyland Story, Liquid Kids and etc. None of them comes even close to Bubble Bobble. And Kiki Kaikai. Come on, why couldn't they just have given us Pocky and Rocky or one of the sequels? Far, far, far better games. Also, most of the shooters (except for G-Darius and maybe Raystorm) are really crap. Puchi Carat - I can't express enough how extremely bad this game is. I can't understand how some people actually like this game. It is so f*****n bad. Dungeon Magic and Football Champ is fun for a while, but pretty far from actual good games.

I have the PS2-version, and i must say that it's really sad that we didn't get Bubble Symphony. Would have made the collection a lot better, especially together with G-Darius.

All in all, it's a nice collection. But most of the games aren't really good games. You'll play them for awhile just to try them out, but my guess is that you'll only stick with 2-3 of them. Play.com sells the game for 9.99 and thats practically nothing. So buy it. But for the love of god, don't think of it as 39 full games. That would be a horrible mistake.

Can somebody tell us how well Gekirindan is ported (ps2 ver.) or emulated (xbox ver.)? I suppose they've taken the arcade version and tried to bring that over?
I fancy myself some Gekirindan action, but I'm a little wary of the Saturn version (considering the slating Yakumo gave in his retro core SSS). Maybe this is a viable/better/... alternative. Opinions?

                        Thanks!

Doesn't seem much different than when I played it on MAME, aside from the title screen keeps the Japanese writing for GEKIRINDAN and adds an english subtitle at the bottom, and all the japanese text banter from the characters seems to have gone - could be based on an unMAMEd us/world version?. Still a good game, just feel it ends kind of abruptly.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer!
For some reason I didn't notice it until I asked the question again in another thread, but I really appreciate your help. I think I'm going to give it a shot, then...
