Main quest is worth continuing with, if only for General Zod !!!!! Also hear it's better not to leave it to long, as the difficulty spikes as you level up.

Got my first Minator yesterday at level 21 or 22 not sure !

The difficulty is all relative - yes it increases as you level but there is a cap on creatures. You'll still kill a rat in one hit after a certain point, where other creatures will be more difficult, but it the challenge is never unfair, higher level creature will be like rats are earlier on in the game. You can always tune down the difficulty slider if it becomes too much.

I've always found it very well balanced.

Explain what that is, without spoilers obviously!

If you don't know the Zod then I can't help you I'm affraid You may find him on an envelope though !

Anyway Champion of Cyrodill now yay, and I've now got 800pts out of this sucker. 12 more acheivements to get across the theives and dark bro guilds, and then the game is officially finished. Unofficially still a massive amount to do and explore, can't see me and this game parting ways anytime soon !

News from Bethesda is that The Knights of the Nine expansion pack is going to cost 800 MS Points and between 10-20 hours additional content.

Well at 20 hours that certainly makes a lot of the other DLC available seem expensive.

Not toucjed this since finishing the main quest will have to get the last two guilds wrapped up before I get NOTN.

can anyone explain how the extra mission content works (the stuff you pay for on marketplace)? do these new quests become automatically active or do you need to find them?

i'm thinking there's probably no point downloading the new "mission" content until i've finished the main quest, correct?

i've already downloaded the spell tomes and horse armour...those are self explanitory and pretty cool

After you've downloaded the extras, you get a quest log alert pop up the next time you play the game, so you don't have to go looking for them to set the quest in motion.

There's no reason you can't get and start these new missions before you finish the main quest. I did, although I didn't do Mehrunes Razor until just recently after the main quest.... They're just like any other non-main story quest in the game really.

I thought the Mehrunes Razor quest was kind of short, but I loved the look of the whole place.

On Oblivion generally: I'm kinda hoping that they might release another patch to sort out a few niggles and glitches. My Thieves guild quest line has come to a grinding hault because of a glitch in the Springheeled Jak boots quest, a couple of other niggles regarding finished quests that still stay in the active quest log even when 100% complete. Kinda P.O'd that the only way to finish the Thieves Guild quest line is to restart with a new character. :-/

Yes, retail.... but I believe you can purchase it separately as a download.

Nov 21st for this, at 800 points. So unfair, all this new stuff coming out around the same time! I'm gonna try to hold off til I finish uni for the holidays before attempting this as I'll get sucked in again.

Its just like a 5th faction to join now isnt it? I wonder if they give achievements too or is that still not allowed for addons?

It's time to dust off Oblivion ( well, I say dust off, there hasn't been that much dust settled on the game ) - Knights of the Nine is out now, and it appears to be a decently long quest line.

Unlike the previous add-on stuff, there's no pop-up that tells you there's a new quest. You have to go exploring the same way you did to start the other quest lines. Once you get the quest started there's a chunk of dialog as to what it entails - then it seems to be a case of going to the new areas and dungeons added by the download. So far there's nothing new in terms of dungeon variety, it's still the same architecture, and it's the same dungeon questing as Oblivion has already offered.

The story arc does seem to be involving though, from the hour I've played so far I'd say it's worth the 800 points - there's clearly a good chunk of game time involved compared to the other DLC. However, if you've gotten bored ( ? ) with the game, this isn't going to revitalise your interest.

In summary: more of the same loveliness, and a new interesting story arc.

Sounds good, especially at the price of a new XBLA title. I don't need it yet though, have far too much other stuff to do with the game.

Same here, I'm trying to hold out so much but I cant say no!! I'll give myself til this time next week til I break and download it, then get sucked back into Oblivion, ruining my Uni work!!

Its cool that it just slips into the game unnoticed and you still need to find the new stuff for yourself, wonder how we go about doing it... Shall be fun.

This is just the excuse I need to properly (properly this time) give some lengthy play-time to Oblivion again now that there are really only two major titles to be released until the end of the year (Vegas and Twilight Princess).
