    Loco Roco Demo (PSP)

got the latest copy of MCV and inside i found a Loco Roco demo, this game is brillant strongly recomend everyone check this out. Basic controls left sholder button tilts the word left, right sholder tilts the game right and if you press the O button the Loco Roco blob splitts in to lots of little ones the if you hold O they all merge together. Really simple controls but a brilliant game.

Do you know if this is the same as the Japanese demo recently released?

There's already been a bit of discussion about that here:

Maybe the mods should merge it with this one.

No problem, it's in a different forum so you wouldn't have found it if you searched the First Play forum anyway. It should be in here really.

I wish I was still in the trade - that ad presentation looks lovely.

Managed to get hold of this from MCV today.

Brilliant fun and very charming. A must buy for me in July now (can't see the language barrier being a problem somehow).

Just can't get the damn theme tune out of my head now

My buddy who works on OPS2M has borrowed the review copy of this from work (I think it was reviewed in that special edition with the demo on the front), he says it's bloody marvelous. I'll ask him to bring it around later so I can give it a bash. I'll post some impressions if he does.

The new Loco Roco demo also available in this month's PSP Official Guide Book. ?6.99 but probably still cheaper than buying the MCV demo from ebay

Got my mitts on the full version yesterday, but only managed to get around 15 mins of gameplay in. This was all the time I needed to proclaim that LocoRoco is one of the bestest games EVER! The game design is pure genius.

Here's a rundown of a few of the things that stood out. Well firstly, you can unlock different characters, each with their own music and mannerisms (as in what the blob does when you just leave it on screen doing nothing). I played as a red blob that had a deeper voice than the orange one we've seen the in demo, but equally as funny. Not sure on the other characters, but my mate said he had unlocked around 3 so far. I played on one of the early levels that was pretty similar to the demo level, but there was a few things I'd not seen before. One was a plant thing (looked like an egg out of Alien) that swallows your blob and spits it out as a square, changing the way it handles. I thought this was just something funny you could do but as I progressed through the level I noticed a square gap in the floor, too small for my big blob, but just the right size if I split into smaller blobs. So I got one of the smaller blobs in the gap which triggered one of those plants to grow (the ones that adds to your blob collection). I also turned the blob into a rod shape, which makes it difficult to roll (as it would), but makes it easier to navigate a series of see-saw platforms as you don't go rolling off. At the end of the level I was greeted by a giant pillar with a face on it slumped over asleep, a quick tune from my little blobs soon woke it up At this point I'm absolutely in stitches laughing because the music is just so damn funny. I reckon this could be in the running for GOTY awards already!

                      *EDIT*

Just noticed the picture above with all the characters, so I guess there's 6 in total then...I was playing as the google-eyed red one
