Based on the ending, I'm very interested in seeing how the all new Iori will be designed.

Wonder how SNKP will change Ash.
But I cannot sing enough praises for SNK this time around. This game screams old school KOF but has tons of new elements, the art work is superb...great presentation, great music....since playing it in arcades for the first time last yr, I've been waiting for this to come home.

The first KOF I truly enjoyed since 98....so in love again.

      Yep agreed

after snk became snk playmore it looked like they were going downhill but this really showed that they could do a really good kof game

did hear a rumour there planning a kof 98-rebout

        oops
i made a mistake in my first post about saving shift

u can use saving shift in the middle of a combo, as long as the opponent hasn't hit you with a super or air combo.

I must have been distracted or something to make such a big boo boo. Oooops.

Just received this game. Have to say it looks great so far, it really got me excited about KOF again. One downside is that it doesn't deinterlace very well on my sony V2000, guess it's time to get some component cables.

The only concern i had was really of the existing characters like kyo iori and k'

Basically because i had played them to death in previous games but with the faster pace and the tagging/super cancels i enjoy playing them a lot more then i did before

Working tags into a combo is going to take a lot of time and patience but i can see the potential is there.

Hopefully they could do team up moves in the next game (like with rage of the dragons)

Does anyone know what the 'load type' option in the graphic setting menu does?

No idea what it does sorry

anyone try the challenge mode ?

mission 10 (i think) took me quite a few attempts

Its the one where you cannot move or dodge (you can block and perform special moves have only 20% energy and have to survive for 30 seconds while king launches firebals

                  yeah i finished em all

                  ask n i shall deliver.....

(it's not hard, it's very boring..but i thought mission 20 for me was tough since I 've never used mai in all the games...took me a while to figure out the damaging combos n stuff. And oh, hp recover is dependant on what moves u used to finish off the AI. So try to kill for good hp recovery if need be).

Robert vs King mission...I think the easiest way to beat it is to completely evade her fireballs by doing flashkick.

Duck to safely avoid when she does high.

Flash kick to avoid when she does low venom strike/double strike.

Load type basically means...well, quick loading between matches.

U can set configure it so the game will not load the rolling demo (where u get to see where u fight, time, background etc etc etc.) b4 a match starts.

                    Edit : oops, I'm mistaken!!!

Load isn't removing the Demo. That's another option altogether. I don't have the game with me right now. I just need to read the damn manual haha.

                    Sorry.

When you lose, is there any way to just continue with the characters you already have, rather than having to go to the character select screen and pick them all again? It's quite annoying that it doesn't at least remember who you had and default the selection to those characters.

well...this was based on an arcade port.

So, no...unless there's a quick continue. Otherwise, no.

Yes it has been at the Trocadero for quite a long time.

Ooh, I ordered mine yesterday. Can't wait until it arrives! I've been on a real 2D fighter 'thing' at the moment. It seems to be the onl genre I'm playing. Funny that, about a month ago it was all platform games!

One minor thing that did really impress me was the artwork for the cutscenes and endings

While there was only a few bits of animation i thought the look and style of it was great

wonder how come it took so long for snk to come up with a game this good
