    Kaitou Russou NDS JPN

Been playing this today & its mental but lots of fun, it plays like an interactive comic. You play as russou & have the ability to disguise yourself when needed. You do this by drawing your face to make yourself blend in hehe.

Not gotten too far into it yet but from what i have played im loving it. Theres a lot of japanese text but some wonderful person has not only written a complete walkthrough but also translated all the script for the game too (^_^) so theres really no excuse to not import.

Your avatar is taken from this, right?

I remember reading about this a while ago. Sounded fun. Might have to get me a copy.

Yup indeed it is, my avatar was taken from a statue in the game.

Oh & play asia have this discounted to ?16 in their summer sale so its the perfect time to get hold of it.

Kaitou Rousseau for Nintendo DS * In our warehouse. aka. Rousseau the ThiefIn Kaitou Rousseau (aka. Rousseau the Thief), you take the role as a thief who is trying to hide from the police. Rousseau has one very tricky ability, which is to change the shape and look of his face. By drawing images on the Nintendo DS™ touch screen, you can adapt Rousseau to the current surroundings and thereby evade his chasers. For example, you can draw a picture of a girl to throw off the cops when in a crowd or quickly sketch what's on a nearby wall ...

What are the chances of an English version ever appearing? I don't fancy wading through a translation faq.

I've been tempted towards this ever since I saw this article over at Siliconera:

Whilst I'd obviously prefer an English version, I'm not holding out any hope... the current price might sway me too.

I've done that before and it saps aproximately 100% of the fun out of a game.

If the language in Russou is nice and easy, and all in kana (or at least simple kanji/or furigana readings), I could be tempted.... but if not I'll wait for a English version.

Been playing it nonstop over the weekend & its really amazing, its the perfect use of the touch screen. Hope it gets an english translation as ill gladly buy it again to enjoy the story without the faq.

It really does feel like a interactive comic book, the style & animation is great.

Got to one bit where there was a sign hanging above the teachers head & i discovered you had to get it to fall down to distact him so you can escape. But i couldnt work out how, i remembered the ds mic & gave that a try (^_^) after a few blows it started swinging then wham straight onto his head. success \(^_^)/

The whole taking photographs & finding out about your next target is pretty addictive plus theres the added fun of freestyle disguises where you can draw whatever face you want. Lost count how many times cockman has burst into a scene to interrogate someone

Another nice extra was this lovely kaito russo ds pouch that play asia sent me, it was usually given away to those who preordered in japan & i was totally not expecting to find it in my parcel.

There is full furigana readings on all the kanji making reading it a breeze.

Yeah, I got the pouch and stickers too which was a very nice surprise

I'm playing through it at the minute (had it since launch but it got put in the backlog over the last week with some other arrivals) and I loved the way the first part is all drawing disguises etc and after that it takes on a more Phoenix Wright style.

                Great stuff

Yeah it feels quite a lot like phoenix wright in some bits. I like the fact you can save at any time too is a bonus.

                    Oh, it definitely is.
What surprised me is that I was able to make my way through most of it without an FAQ. Considering I don't read Japanese at all, I think this was quite an achievement!

Anyway, yeah for me games like this make the DS aside from all the A grade big-hitters.

Have ordered this from Play-Asia and it has been dispatched, so thanks for the recommendations. I'm looking forward to playing this - will let you all know what I think!

(I hope I get the pouch and stickers too!)

Is there a way to delete data on this game? Also what are the options under the Select button menu?

                        Finding it rather tedious myself.
                        Kept you waiting, huh?

                            Difficulty: Normal / Easy
                            Disguise Cutscenes: Long / Short
Fast Forward Settings: 1 Panel / Continuous.
