Helldivers 2 (PS5/PC)

    Once in game I'm finding it pretty stable took me two minutes to get in last night, and i played form 7-11:30 with no issues, Joining freinds seems to let you jump the queue a lot of the time especially if they're already in a game.

    The problem now is people are leaving the game open so they don't have to queue, currently you can sit in your spaceship in orbit for hours and it wont kick you from the game, their looking at launching a patch with an auto timeout for inactivity to stop people Squatting as well as trying to up capacity. Arrowhead are a victim of their own success at the moment and unless they fix the issue soon it really does feel like players will naturally drop off and the problem will fix itself.

        Matchmaking for me and I don't want to be 'that' person but as daft as it sounds, and as good as the game is, I can feasibly see me dropping it soon. Despite how it seems in my updates my home gaming time is very constricted and I've literally played nothing in the last 5 days because each late evening involves booting up Helldivers, waiting an age to get online, sometimes getting on but then can't get matched, turning it off and being tired so going to bed. At some point I'm going to end up getting into another game instead due to lack of choice and with these kinds of games once you fall behind the community there's typically not the will to push to get back into the swing of it. It's a shame but I think I'm reaching the tipping point where time spent waiting to play the game is outweighing the time I've spent on it when I can click a button and literally play something else instead. I'm holding out for now but despite their efforts to expand the server support the problems getting much worse rather than better.

          i think what's Helldivers saving grace is I've not felt that FOMO from not playing it religiously a lot of my team are about 20 levels higher than me and have been on every night since launch, all that means is their air drops come in a bit faster and hit a bit harder, their more used to taking on harder enemies and that they have fully unlocked all the statagems, but they have the same health as me their standard wepons hit the same as mine and we all die the same way.

          It's not about the gind and keeping up for a change but the mission to mission fun of just going down to a planet shooting some bugs with your friends and having a global objective to work towards. Feeling like your contribution no matter how small or large got the community to the current goal, and it's on to the next planet to liberate that one.

            Yep, if it was working reasonably then it feels like a game that you can keep installed and pop on irregularly for a blast quite easily. The action is immediate and missions have a limit in length that is short of comfortable. Hopefully they get it sorted quickly, the huge sales numbers are great for them but it also means a growing tidal wave of complaints if the current issues persist.

              I don't think this game has much in the way legs if you are having to resort to playing solo. It may be something to sideline for now until either they sort out the issues or the interest drops off a bit. It's a shame like as this is the type of game I've been hoping for, for a while.

                Apparently Arrowhead completely broke the PS5 version for everyone today and log in full stop is impossible.

                    Played 2 solo matches all week which is easier than it was at the start but no way near as fun in coop, otherwise coop has been impossible for me all week as I just don’t have active people on my friends list playing this.

                      Played late into the night last night again joining form the PS5 party seems to bypass the queue for me, We had some crazy moments again, we found out that the Orbital 380MM HE Barrage is crazy powerful but requires your whole team to move well well back as it targets a massive area. We have started playing on suicide mission and it gets pretty challenging, we had three bile titans and a whole army of chargers trying to stop us taking over a radar tower at one point. The rail gun or the autocannon is a must on higher difficulty levels, my loadout at the moment consists of the guard dog the breaker shotgun and either a Grenade launcher or a Rail gun.

                      One of our team has been give the nickname Sidequest as he constantly wanders off, all hell is breaking loose at the objective where getting overrun and ripped to pieces, and he's halfway across the map looking at weird shaped rocks. No matter what you say to him, he just wanders off or goes off task like a magpie, he's attracted to shiny things. the game should have dog leads or something as he's like an unruly puppy, It's like he doesn't have a clue about stealth either and stirs up every nest on the map as he stomps through.

                      One extraction area was so full of hunters, chargers and low level bugs, by the time we got there we had to completely destroy the whole area with nukes and orbital strikes after strike before we could even think about getting near the drop-ship call in point.

                        And it all seems to be magically back online and working with full matchmaking, sos, map joining, everything. Guess they flicked the right switch this time 🤷‍♂️.

                        edit: apparently ark’s have now been orbital bombarded for good, cut over 50k players off the steam count alone today after the patch vs before, that’s a whole crap tone of resources wasted on players just wasting electricity all round.

                            Anti material weapons for the armoured mofos is absolutely essential, otherwise your just fighting a losing battle on the harder difficulties.

                              They have upped the player cap by another 300 thousand, so must be confident that they are solving the server and stability issues

                              Helldivers 2 has increased its player cap even further, ahead of what's expected to be another busy weekend for the gam…

                                That and quickly kicking afk's has been making a massive difference.
