    Astro Bot PS5

I got this today from The Game Collection. Incredible game to play, especially if you like Super Mario Odyssey. As you'd imagine it works so well with the PS5's Controller.

Graphics are smooth, detailed & very colourful.

The game seems to present a different gaming idea every few minutes, I've just finished a level based on Ape Escape

Best game on the system - RECOMENDED!

I'm near the end now. Loved nearly everything about it. But one of the Square challenge levels I genuinely hated 🤣

Got 4 planets and 4 X challenges to go now with 30ish more bots to rescue.

It's nice when you effectively decide a game will be great, then it releases and it's exactly that. There was a moment of a wobble early on, during the set up when the villain sets up the galaxies and purely from the perspective of having played through all the other entries there was a slight uncertainty on seeing the same bosses again and initial familiar enemies etc. But it's a sensation that very quickly goes away because the game just constantly throws new things at you and the embracing of the Dual Sense just makes every movement a joy - it really shows how lazy nearly every other game is with the controller.

I'm really trying to pace it out as these things are little bright flames of games that don't last long.

Its stuff like this that keeps me gaming, Both Sony and Nintendo at times seem to be able bottle up pure joy, smash it into a disk or cart and just go, here you go, enjoy.

I'm kind of glad my partner has demanded i don't play it without her, it will drag the enjoyment out instead of splurging it all over the weekend.

I've even pre-ordered a Nendoroid Astro as they just looked awsome. https://goodsmileeurope.com/products/gse_g92942

Did a few levels and one boss last night. Absolute joy to play. Need more games like this.

The feedback through the controller reminds me of what I experienced with Astro's Play Room ... and never got again until now.

Like others I will try not to burn through too fast. It's one to savour.

Can't wait to play this, but I'm a little sad it's not in VR again.

The original VR game is one of the best games I've ever played, but it also felt like it reignited that sense of wonder and discovery.
I loved that the developers were ahead of me at every step, like seeing if you can squirt your face with the water cannon and, yup they'd added water droplets or getting shurikens and seeing if you can chop down the bamboo scenery, which of course you could.

Peeking around a corner to find a hidden bot or seeing a massive boss loses its impact on a telly.
I know this would be great, but I think the VR Astro Bot is a must-play.

Yes, great as this one is, VR Astro Bot is on another level.

In a way I'm kind of glad this one isn't VR though as I don't have a PSVR2 unit ... and it maybe deserves a wider audience.

You're so godammned selfish. You don't have a PSVR2 unit, so everyone has to suffer?

if you just got a 6th job you could have this & a PS5 and you too could feel joy.
