    Halls of Torment (PC)

What do you get when you mix vampire survivors with Diablo 1 or 2?... you get Halls of Torment for £5 on steam. What does this have over VS and it over elk? Well you get properly animated, late 90's PC graphics awesomeness, works just as well on a controller as K/M, the game isn't as large as VS with 5 levels and about 12 different characters which play quite differently and gel better with different abilities.

Gameplay wise, you get a core attack on the character which comes with various level up routes, some which need unlocking through the games recorded challenges, then you have level 1 to 5 for the core skills (crit chance, crit dmg, speed, regen, etc, etc) then comes abilities, you have 6 slots and unlike VS they do not mix together to form a super weapon, which i'm quite thankful for, as it was always an extra hassle trying to remember what combos with what, pausing the menu to look at the recipe list all the time. Here the abilities after bit of levelling and completing challenges to unlock higher levels of abilities can split in to 2 to 3 paths to change how they damage or move. Lastly is equipment, 6 slots for different body parts which vastly boost all sorts things, usually found on bosses and can be dumped 1 at a time on to a well bucket to be lifted out of the level and bought from a NPC so you can start with it next time (once bought you always have the equipment to use, no losing it after one run).

NPC's and hidden quest stuff found can upgrade the camp, giving core stuff like upgrading shared skills or personal character stats.

Game can be "easy" once you understand that levelling defence (block, defence and regen) is vital to surviving agony levels which are unlocked after you play at bit, and then modifiers can be selected to make it harder but gain more exp in return, which allows for reaching challenges like do 150million in damage.

Game is also on phones, and the devs said they are working on console versions in there FAQ.
