    Marvel Ultimate Alliance

Got this delivered today from Gameplay.

First thing I noticed was the low res video quality on the opening credits and intro, which is strange as I downloaded the 720p into from Marketplace and it looked the usual high quality.

When into the game it looks fine.

The game itself seems ok but its definetely one that looks to be alot more fun in multiplayer, fights are quite simple but the fighting looks to get more complex as you learn more moves.

Lots of unlockable stuff by the looks of it to get, mostly characters and costumes and stuff.

I reckon this should be some good fun, but maybe best to get asap and sell on in a week or two towards GoW.

I've had the Asian version for a couple of days now. It has old-style repetitive gameplay and I was quite underwhelmed until I managed to get a game with a decent trio online tonight. On Live it's proving an ok diversion until something better comes along in a few weeks but overall it's one just for Marvel fans, especially those who loved the X-men Legends games.

I used to love this type of game

but now with so many variations of the similar engine (baldurs gate dark alliance/champions of norrath and the xmen legends ) i have grown quite bored with them

I think there is a justice league based on the same engine released to

Can someone give me a detailed run down of the online co-op mode.

Im seriously thinking of buying - all the reviews have been pretty decent.

What do you want to know? From what I've seen so far it basically mirrors the single player mode.

Hmmm... I'm waiting for my Asian copy to be dispatched, these reviews don't seem all that inspiring..... although what I'd read about it previously perked my interest.

I've never played any of the X-Men games or Baldur's Gate, so I'm hoping it's gonna be something new to me at least

I'm quite enjoying this, reminds me of old school side scroller beat em ups for some reason - moreso than XL1+2.

Seems to be a pretty lengthy game storyline wise - clocked 5 hours already so far and only on mission 2 still (not sure how many there are yet). Also, going through with each level with different characters seems to open up new dialogue and taking each of the 20+ characters to max level is always fun.

Plus, at ?21 you really can't go wrong.

I would assume it is English as they do not bother to localise the game for the Asian versions bar Japan.
Plus they have the Australian version.

As stormbreak says, the region-free Asian version is in English. Currently on back order which in my experience means no more than 10 days or so.

Im thinking about selling this already, just feels way too tedious and repetative to me.

This is the kind of game you should be playing with 3 other people you know. I wouldn't have been able to stand playing Xmen legends 2 by myself. I was a bit bored of that too but it is a great 4 player game to have so we stuck with it until the end.
From what I played a few days ago, it seems more of the same but this time I could actually see my character because it is in HD :P

Although Deadpool and spiderman look the same >_>

Is the US Xbox (not 360) version region free?

Mine arrived from PA yesterday and im loving it so far, if your a comic fan this is heaven.

Plays nearly exactly the same as X-Men Legends only real difference i can see is that health potions have been replaced with orbs that you collect to refill your health automatically.

Must say the 360 version looks pretty nice overall, explosions and effects all over the place and its nice and smooth. Some of the special power effects are just fantastic looking as well, like the human torches flame thrower.
