    Gothic 3 (pc)

    got this today

Definetly feels like a lower budget version of oblivion

similar sort of thing with a large world to explore except its from a third person view.

So far i have played it for about a hour and there is potential but it does suffer from inconsistent frame rates also there is some really bad pop up.

So far the real problem is the combat it is not that good at all the left mouse button attacks and the right parrys. But when you strike enemies there is a pathetic little blood effect and no sound effects at all. Also it has happened where the enemies strikes you from behind and you are unable to fight back.Thank fully when the energy runs out you are just unconcious and can recover some health back

For some strange reason these german games (also including the pc games sacred/X3 the threat) are really badly bugged on release i have installed the latest patch 1.08 and there are still numerous graphic problems and other bugs i have been stuck in the scenary several times

i really hope it gets its problems fixed at the moment its not really a complete game

Its no oblivion beater but if they can get it fixed it will be a very good RPG

Tried to get into this a few weeks ago just couldnt be bothered giving it the effort, like you say m8 its a very poor mans oblivion.

Even on my pc it suffered from poor frame rates and im running a dual core twin sli thingy

Also i found it quite easy for the battles to get ridiculously tough in a short space of time, one minute the mob would be hitting you for say 5 damage then in a flash it would jump up to like 50 !?!?!

Removed it after about 2 hours, if your after another decent rpg try neverwinter nights2 or dark messiah

already have both games on order

think it is better then gothic 2 though.

One thing i did like though was (ignoring the dodgy frame rates) it was seamless you could go into houses/villages caves etc and it would seem to load pretty quickly

i did hear that it does have some problems running on dual core machines
