Go to your Journal, then Encyclopaedia, and it'll show you what you need to do for every animal in the game that you've unlocked (not just your current residents)

If you still can't find it, then read this spoiler:

Buy or grow one turnip and leave it in your garden

The medicine from honey is one of those things that you just find accidentally by messing around or trying whatever silly thing you can imagine. Feeding certain foods to certain animals changes their colour, appearance, and even makes completely new animals. It's all about experimenting and just going at your own pace. That's what I love about it. I can't remember the last game that captured my imagination and attention in such an incredible way

      Polished off all but the

      master longevity

achievement, is there any way to see how long real time that you've been playing in it?

I can't remember how to work it out but you need to get up to 250 days. If you want to leave it running on it own just take out the grass seeds and start pouring and leave it. Otherwise you keep getting piñata requests.

You don't have to play consistently for the full 50 hours do you? That would be pretty irresponsible of Rare to put that into a game mainly aimed at the younger gamer if its true.

Hopefully I've got it totally wrong and its an accumulation of that time over weeks of play.

A question on the game, can you stop the ruffians trashing the ponds in your garden?

They seem to leave most things alone but when it comes to ponds they always cut paths right thu them and it takes ages to get nice rounded edges to the ponds so i wish they would trash a tree or something that doesn't take long to replace.

Does putting in paths help guide them around the garden or are they always going to cause some trouble as thats what they are put in the game for.

No, you're allowed 1 toilet break.... (only kidding, take your time, just 50 hours combined)

You can stick up anti-Ruffian statues, and they tend to leave your garden alone. Alternatively you can pay them off. I seem to remember you can also use various pinata to scare them away. (and perhaps, maybe, you'll get an achievement...)

haha cheers for the advise debug

I've payed them off a few times but the bastards always leave the way my ponds are so even after I'm 500 coins down they still ruin my beautiful pond edges.

Once you've paid Ivor Beggar 1000 coins (to make him Ivor Bargain) the stuff he sells (depending on your level - the Captain's Cutlass is your friend for Ruffians) makes the game so much easier and less hectic it's untrue. It becomes very relaxing after that.

Anephric since i've stuck that 'Captain's Cutlass' in the middle of my garden the Ruffians have totally disappeared. But what gets me is there is zero information about the cutlass and I wouldn't have had a clue what it does if someone as good as yourself hadn't told me.

1P King, I found it frustrating at times trying to work out what does what too. In the end, I just gave up and keep referring to http://pinataisland.info !

Picked this up for a bargain ?24.99 today, absolutley love it. Shame that it sold so poorly, but hopefully the recent discounting will increase sales.

I know its not the right place to post it, but according to C4's text service a 360 sequel and DS version are being looked at.

So I finally got to the max size garden tonight - fantastic, as my old place had been getting insanely crowded.

I went on a massive selling spree, and completely emptied my garden, then spent a good half an hour or so cleaning up and making it all nice and grassy. I stuck a little orchard in one corner - 10 Apple Trees along the edges, then some stone walls to make a square, and planted a few poppies and buttercups inside. Over in another corner I dig a pond with an island, and try to plant some Fir Trees on it.

But no! Suddenly the game starts telling me that my garden is full, and that I can't plant any more stuff. The place is 75% empty, a fact that is confirmed by the Garden Area section of the Journal - all I have is 10 trees, 15 plants, a house and a few helpers!

Anyone else had this? Is it a bug?

It reserves spaces for the fruit a tree will drop

Whats the best/easiest way to get money when you start out? I'm about level 8 or 9 and I have no cash!!!

I got this game last week or so as I had nothing much to play and thought I'd give it a go as it looked fun. I found it quite addictive at first and sort of got into it but after a few days I just couldn't be bothered anymore! I really have no desire to carry on with it but I can see why other people like it, it's kinda similar to a game like animal crossing (kinda), and I know I got bored with that also eventually. A friend said I was supposed to like it (being a girl an all and it being 'cute and fluffy' ) but apparently the reason I don't is because I don't get to sniper anyone in the head and this definitely isn't the game for that!
