I feel a fleshed out version of Wii Golf could be sold seperately as the mechanics are great, it just grinds a bit only having nine holes without the pin position even changing from round to round or anything.

I don't want to sound negative but apart from Kororinpa and WarioWare: Smooth Moves, the Wii hasn't provided me much entertainment and thus sold it back in March (along with my Xbox 360).

However, Wii Sports still remains the best game on the Wii itself despite being a 'tech' demo and a free one at that.

I never warmed to the Boxing game (nobody did to be honest; too much hassle and is quite dull) but the other four games - Baseball, Bowling, Golf and Tennis - are superb fun and has so much replay value.

I think both Bowling and Tennis are the best multi-player games, especially Bowling which has one of the best 'just one more go' factor about it in any game I have played. It is always nice to see everybody enjoying the game and having huge smiles on their faces.

Baseball - as Adam states - always gives you that burning feeling in your arms after playing for several hours; I love getting home run after home run.

Wii Sports is one of the best thing and perhaps the most important step forward too to happen in videogames in years.

        Super Swing Golf?

From what I've read in reviews the swing mechanics are completly different to Wii Sports golf, involving holding your swing half way through to set power. Tiger Woods is not one-to-one with your actions to onscreen player either.

Wii Sports golf still seems to be the best you can get swing wise, just needs more courses.

It makes you wonder why Tiger Woods etc didn't follow the swing method introduced in Wii Sports, it works perfectly... Well, pretty much. Like others have said, a lot more courses, a little more polish and there would certainly be a must-have golf title.

I also feel that boing is my least favourite, though i can't help but like the practise stages... Dodging the ball is particularly responsive (unlock the actual VS matches )

The problem with the boxing is that it doesn't really seem to be doing what you are telling it to. Multiplayer matches just end up being two guys wildly flailing their arms about while trying to move around to dodge. Its a great workout, but not really much of a video game.

I think it was probably animation issues that stopped Tiger Woods being one-to-one on the character action to swing. Whilst it is relatively easy to do with the simple Mii characters, it was probably difficult to animate a realistic looking player cancelling half way through their swing or moving back to practising from behind the ball. I'm not quite sure what Super Swing Golf's excuse was though.

My biggest problem with Wii Sports Golf is that no backswing is required at all ... try it: stand in the typical golf stance then just swing forwards. Actually, if you use backswing, you're more likely to make a mess of your shot.

That just you being a spoil-sport, although I can see how that would be annoying if you were playing a single player career mode or something on a proper version.

In multiplayer, as long as everyone swings properly then there is no problem.

Had this on at the brother-in-law (to be)'s yesterday for the kids - 4, 6, 10ish and 13ish - They had such a laugh playing it and I realised when I heard an Aunt saying how "we've got to have one of them" what an incredible job Nintendo have done with the wii & this game.

Why has the wii destroyed the 360 & PS3 this gen saleswise ? because it's the only console that launched with an outright killer-app.

Wii sports rocks, hard. It's always on in the Jim household. I really hope we get a fuller version of Wii golf sometime soon.

Wii Love Golf could be for the win if it uses a similar system, Miis etc.

That's the hope. I love the way my Mii keeps popping his handsome head up in other games.

my dad still asks to have wii sports put on when he's round and fancies something to do with the sprog.

we showed him Mario & Sonic @ the Olympics and he wouldn't have a go (he also won't play Wii Play either) as thought it looked too much like hard work.

the play mechanics on sports though are perfectly pitched for all ages of gamer, we are quite taken with Mario & Sonic but can fully understand why an arthritic 67y old doesn't fancy the 400m freestyle swimming waggle'a'thon.

we also credit wii sports with all of us picking up golf clubs for the first time in our life and actually playing for real !
