    Top shout JR.

I've really gotta be switching characters more. I got about 2-3 hours into the game and realised that I hadn't switched characters much and had to track back and open all the doors I forgot to unlock with Carth

    Ah well...

You awareness skill (which is also linked to wisdom) determines if a character sees a mine - sometimes they wonder in to them because they simply don't notice them.

Your Demolition skill will determine if you can disarm them or recover them (recovering takes a higher skill level). Mines don't actually do too much damage, but they are worth recovering if you can.

Marty, good call. I forgot to mention that.

Yes, the Awareness skill DOES have some use! In the pen-and-paper game that skill would get a lot more use than it does here, but one thing you do need it for in KOTOR is spotting mines. Early on, they are placed pretty obviously, and so even your n00b character can see them. But, later on, you'll suddenly notice that you no longer see those distinctive flashing bubbles, but sometimes you walk through places that explode. That's a mine you tripped 'cause your blind ass couldn't see it. Later on in the game, though, that is less of an issue, because you can shake off the damage more easily, and your DEX should be high enough (as well as your Reflex save), to avoid half the damage you take when you hit one.

Well last night I got the ultimate Evil ending:

Ah, if only Bastila hadn't showed up, I would've given it all up for him...instead, I told him it was too late for us and carved him up.

The Republic destroyed, the Infinite Empire reborn.

          Christ, Evil Bastila is scary.

That's cool. I've kinda just been leveling up as roccomended in many places... I don't really know what each thing does, and what are the best ratios etc so I don't want to go all stealth and get screwed over in a battle for example...

It is really cool so far - Bastilla is MINE!!

Oh, and I'm all nice and good. I'm quite far into the good side, I gave the Rakhound (thing) serum to the guy FOR FREE and thanked him from relieving me of it!

I want to be good first, then I'm gonna be a damn bad ass. I actually (presently) have the urge to play the game again after I finish it so I can be different...

I can't wait to get off this rock and into space...

OH, OH and I just got a light saber - a double ended one - and I can't use it... YET!! But I shall... I think I'll see if Bastialla can use it (it would make sense) until I become a JEDI!!!!

Pity I've got F-Zero GX arriving tomorrow!

I'm nearly done my evil game. Just Malak left. :O

              2/18 Light Consular next...Wish me luck. X_X

Should I be male or female? o.o

I'm starting to run into trouble. I dont really seem to have any force powers and the ones i do have are always blocked or complete bollocks (Force Whirlwind, woooooo).

I'm on Korriban and really missing Bastilla. Carth sucks hard and couldn't hit a barn door, i may as well leave him behind and have 2 members in my party for all the good he does. Same with every party member that uses blasters. I dont get it, Carth has max 2 handed weps, max blaster, and max weapon proficiencies yet i just fought Darth Bandon, and Jurahni took down both guards on her own, while i had to medpack Carth about a dozen times while he was constantly frozen by something, then i was down to Bandon on his own and i could see Carths blaster shots hitting Bandon but Carth did 0 damage throughout the whole battle. Useless twat. Christ knows how i'll finish this planet with him 'helping' me out. All my characters that aren't Jedi's are completely useless pussies. Bah.

Also Force Immunity or Shield or whatever it is does piss all. Everytime i put it up i get pushed, frozen or flamed.

Most of the defensive Force powers are dire. Force Valour and Force Speed are the only good ones. Force Speed actually moves you when walking around at twice the speed, and is vital to prevent boredom on the second and third run throughs.

One of the better design decisions (as mentioned earlier) is that the non-jedi characters are the most interesting, and gives you a real incentive to bring them along. Except Zaalbar. No, I'm the scout, go shag a rug or something.

I'd say female if only to break Carth and Juhani's hearts if you change your mind and decide to turn later on.

The 2/18 thing isn't as hard as you'd expect but unless you choose to be a Guardian, your feat progression is depressingly slow and you won't get any class bonus feats beyond the first 2 levels - no implants/uncanny dodges/scoundrel's luck. It's worth it though, especially dark as you can end up with Kill, Insanity, Storm, Wave and Death Field.

I've done the game 4 times now...I can't believe I want to play it again!

But I do. I really do. God, I love it to bits.

Valour isn't worth bothering with, nor is energy resistance or shield. Immunity is downright vital, though - it reduces most opponents to making stupid hand gestures while you carve them to pieces. I agree about Speed if only for the Shadowland treks.

Re. the chap commenting on the failure of his force abilities, the higher your Wisdom(?) the better your chance of your powers working. It's tricky deciding at the start which attributes to give the points to...I tend to leave Constitution and Dexterity alone as Wisdom, Intelligence and Charisma are far more useful. Give the leftovers to Strength, which can always be topped up by various gauntlets later anyway...

Heh, anyone else open the box they were supposed to deliver for Lurze?

edit: whoa, something very bizarre is going on. I went to Tatooine to delivery said package and it start me off in the Hawk. Nothing wrong there, 'cept Zalbaar is already in my party!? So, I go to the select screen and there are two Zalbaar, Mission and the old-fag off Kashyyk available, nobody else... even more bizarre is the galaxy droid sitting in the cockpit of the Ebon Hawk, with a FULL planet list available... ???

                        2nd edit: Look!!

Yeah, and for a moment I was freaking out. Not too hard to get out though.

Ooo - I never did. Spoiler me please, it's unlikely I'm going to get to do this anytime soon as I passed that point on my 2nd run through.

Turns out this place is a prison for the mind, he doesn't remember much about anything except he can't do numbers and he is generally a pretty bad kinda person... He tells you of an escape route, one which involves him assuming control of your body unless you beat him in a game of riddles. First one who gets it wrong loses...

Get it correct, you get shoved back in your body with a journal update stating it wasn't such a good idea to open the box...
edit: my game crashed after I tried to leave the Hawk; see above
