Ratchet and Clank Size Matters PSP

This dropped through the letterhole today and my face beamed with excitement. Being a massive fan of platform games and the ratchet series especially I have been waiting for this since I heard about it.

First off, the controls are easy to use, the shooting is a bit tricky but thanks for the auto aim system in place you quickly adapt and you're blasting robots left right and centre. Essentially the controls represent what we've seen on the PS2. No gripes there, really.

I've just done the first level and all your usual R&C gameplay ideas are here, level up your character, level up your weapons, collect bolts for new weapons. Everything is here which makes ratchet and clank as awesome as it ever has been.

Previous R&C games seem to have doddled off into pure blast em ups (See Ratchet Gladiator) but this is a fine return to form feeling like a true adventure, learning new moves and using them elsewhere etc.

Graphically it's lovely for the PSP, it's nearly as nice as the PS2 versions but obviously not as good.

So far? Great fun, let's hope High Impact Games don't let me down after its done

i've probably missed some key element out so any Q's please ask!

ive been playing this as well and its as fun as R&C has always been. Loads of weapons and armor to collect and upgrade, which is what i love about these games. The games controls are perfect which is a suprise for a PSP game. Id say its also the best looking PSP game so far as well, some of the effects push it past MGS and Tekken.

I am 3 hours into this now and i'm absolutely addicted. It's got so many elements in there and they keep on coming. There's so many different types of game in here it's amazing. I've seen playable parodies of

      Twisted Metal
      Lemmings
      Starfox!

This game has it all, it's better than Daxter, which i loved. The graphics are outstanding also!

I dunno.. the screenshot graphics looked very watered down compared to R&C on the PS2.

        Daxter looks much better visually.

IMO the graphics are on a par if not better looking than ratchet PS2. I am not playing this title myself but the Mrs is She is raving about it. I think she has already clocked up 7+ hours on it.
I will give it a bash once she is finished with it.

7 hours later and i've completed it, but of course with all ratchet games you're given the challenge mode where you run about like a mentalist with all your guns getting more guns!

Best game i've played on PSP. Awesome!

i loved the ratchet games on PS2 and would echo the comments on this being a great psp title.

not many psp games held my attention so far but couldnt put this down last night (even with barca liverpool on tv).

hard to define exactly what makes this so good but feels to me like a exactly the sort of thing psp devs should aim at as its something that just wouldn't really work on the ds.
