Quite concerned that I've yet to read a good few positive impressions. It's natural the game is being compared to Top Spin, but I gather Top Spin is more rooted in simulation, as opposed to the Virtua Tennis series, which has had it's core mechanics rooted firmly in the arcade echoleons.
I've noticed a few mention the excessive diving too... I'm wondering if the demo is from an early build?
As mentioned in a previous thread; are all these "problems" attributed to people trying to play it like Top Spin, perhaps?Last edited by Bleeders; 16-03-2007, 12:18.

This game really does make you wonder how much more they can go with the forumla though, as it's not really moved on since the first game - where can it go? This isn't like Outrun C2C where they could throw in their own ideas, they've likely gotta stick to the same spec as the PS3 game for the most part.
Still, my preorder will be down, it's top stuff. Just don't go expecting it to revolutionise the genre or anything.
For me, the big thing is the fact that 2 people can play online on one console

The whole point of Top Sin 1 & 2 is the risk reward gamble using more difficult shots, just like real tennis. The top spin shot is pretty easy to counteract with good slice returns (again just like real tennis) which is why you need the risk shots as a further increased risk reward shot.
I'm looking forward to this, but none of the VT games really play like real tennis and it's very easy to exploit the game.

got the demo, finnaly they have sorted the net flikering problem
great game so far, seems faster and you need more timing on shots than the dc versions. if you choose different characters you get to try the differnt courts which is nice, and the rumble can be turned on. that music sounds like it was mixed out of f zero gx or somthing, top stuff cant wait for the real thing

Top Spin 2 made it more difficult but I never got into it enough to really judge at a high level of play.
