GameFAQs have a combo list there and an explanation of the system.

From what I can understand, underneath both character's health bar are a number of stars. Special moves take away opponent's stars. When they've all been depleted, you can do a QCF+C+D to do a one hit KO.

Ok, i've been getting a bit more into this.

Certain moves with certain people will deplete the enemies stars, no need for huge combos. Mamiya's arrows are amazing for it. Just lay in with a few light jabs or kicks then do a QCF+K arrow, the delay between attacks is enough that the CPU will try to attack you, you'll end up hitting a counter, bam. Star gone.

Counter hits will 99% of the time deplete a star.

P+K attacks ALWAYS hit, even through a guard, with guaranteed star loss.

I'm not very good at using the boost efficiently though, I can't keep a very good combo going. I usually start off with light attacks, then hit with a long distance hard attack, then boost in and restart, but i'm not pulling it off quick enough.

oh does it have a equivalent to the guilty gear x launch moves ? that send your opponent into the air ?

Not that I can see, no.

The only obvious one that springs to mind is Mamiya's QCFx2+P God Fist Blow attack, which is literally just a launcher.

yep i have to say i thought in guilty gear x they were useless most of the time

been looking at some combo vids on youtube seems to be alot of infinites also a amusing kenshiro fatal combo glitch (which reminded me of the missed ultras from killer instinct)

                I'm pretty sure they do.

The DVD shows Kenshiro doing a high kick that sends Raoh into the air & is then followed up by a couple of aerial attacks & an aerial Dragon punch-alike that makes a combo around the 8/9 hit mark

Also I'm sure it shows other characters doing the same.

I believe they're character specific moves as opposed to a generic GG style launcher.

I'm completely dominating my own scores with Jagi.

Oh I see...I'm not that good with GG so didnt really understand the launcher thing tbh, just assumed thats what was meant, I really need to play these more & learn everything I think

                        Fave character??

Probably Raoh as he just seems hard as nails & has some fairly simple moves for the beginner

Something else I noticed is that your health bars seem to refill or am I going mad & it just appears that way?

When your health bar goes down, you'll notice a slightly larger chunk of your health bar is blue.

If you go for a while without taking damage, you regain the health in the blue part.

                              finally got to play this

it was a bit harder to get the hang of then i thought i assumed it would play exactly like guilty gear but i personally feel its different there is quite alot of special moves per character which i thought was ace

well finally gave it a decent play

single player mode i thought was quite hard especially when the cpu raoh pulled of a fancy combo finished by the fatal move

also knocking down the stars to one seems really difficult........has that been altered from the arcade version?
