Got it today, managed to grab evilboris round mine to hammer away at some co-op as well.
SUPERB fun in co-op play and in co-op battle, very well implemented indeed.
Nice to see some new tracks in their too, only recently grabbed GH2 but corrupted my PS2 save file last night so jacked it in today for 360 version.
Hope to see some DLC stuff soon.

What set is Sweet Child O Mine in? I'm slowly slowly playing through on easy (then medium..etc etc) but I'm up to set 5 and Sweet Child O Mine isn't there yet, not been asked to do an encore either.

Trouble is I don't have much time to give at the moment and my concentration is shot through no sleep and no time!! Am I missing something? Did get the 100% on a song award today though!

sweet child o mine is an encore song, gotta be on medium or above to get it that means, (you dont get encores on easy for some reason!) and its set 4 or 5.

I'm finding the jump from easy to medium a touch tricky, any tips? I just can't get to grips with the blue note

managing to scrape through with 3 stars so far but it is not helping my cause to buy all the songs etc

You have 4 fingers for a reason

I know but my brain doesn't compute my little finger with the blue note :P

I was like that at first (still am a little), but after persevering through medium you become used to using the little finger.

I still need a fair bit of practice though. Three stars on most songs on medium. Need to raise some more funds to buy all the songs (got three more left I believe).

Okay, finished that a bit quicker than I expected, Completed Career now on expert guess I should look at buying the extra songs, anyone got any idea when the new downloadable content is going to be up?

I know it sounds rubbish but, practice and you`ll be pwning medium before you know it.

When I played the original GH I thought I was going to have to play easy forever and then all of a sudden it just clicked. I`m still not great now but I`ve managed to get halfway through hard this time around, although I think that`s my limit.

As you play more you`ll find a style that`ll allow you to be more confident when difficult notes come up. To combat the problems I had with yellow and blue notes coming close together I find myself a lot of the time holding onto lower notes when playing higher ones, this tip is given to you in game and is very helpful. For example, play the yellow note, keep it held down, when the blue note arrives play it keeping yellow pressed and then release blue to play the next yellow. This technique helps alot when passages become very fast.

Just wait 'til you have to move your hand for the Orange, that still does my head in but I'm getting there.

I found the best way to overcome this is, instead of placing your three "primary" fingers on Green, Red and Yellow, place them on Red, Yellow and Blue. Now when you need to hit Green, move your hand "up" the neck and then back on to the red note when done. Sounds a bit odd, but i found it helped me no end, especially when it came to the orange note as well on hard, as by this time i'd gotten used to using my little finger as well. But it helps to get a feel for where the buttons are without thinking about it.

Sounds a bit patronising, but practice really does make (almost) perfect here!

yeah, you'll notice the yellow button actually has a bump on it, this is to help you when you move your hand up and down the buttons a bit like how f and j have bumps on them for where you should rest your index fingers on a keyboard.

As soon as you get used to how it feels it instantly becomes alot more natural and you'll soon be wondering why you ever had any problems with the blue and orange notes

Different songs are easier using the guitar in different ways though. It really is just something that becomes more and more natural the more you play the game. I love how they've encorporated different guitar techniques into such a basic (when compared to an actual guitar) controller.

Yeah! I used to think the Hammer-Ons and Pull-Offs were a fad in the first game and that they didnt work, but with them being improved on GHII i was converted! Theres a great amount of depth to this game that you dont notice at first. Without a doubt one of my fave games ever.
