****. I have that serial number. It works ok - not great but not terrible. Is the fix hard to do? Looks like a bit of a pain in the ass.

I might not be the best to answer this, since it didn't work for me, but no - it's not hard. Was hard on my fingers unscrewing all 11 screws, but not technically difficult at all.

Just done the first 12-13 songs on Easy on 5 stars. My fingers are aching!

BUT I cant do You Really Got Me on 5 stars. Its solid! I keep losing it at the green yellow green yellow switchy parts so can only manage 4 stars.

Still ace though, the amount of time I've put into this already is shocking.

The trick is to not look at pieces like that as 'switchy'. Keep green held and just tap yellow on when it's needed. Lots lots simpler.

What what what what!!!? You can hold it down?

So you can hold the top notes down when combo-ing like that and just tap like lower ones on?

Like for example, a yellow blue switchy, can you hold yellow and tap on and off with the blue then?



Thats genius if so! And makes things a HELL of a lot easier!

Yeah, read the manual and do the tutorials

It's like a real guitar in that aspect. If you hold a fret lower down the neck, anything you hold above that has no effect. For example, if you wanted to play a blue note on GH2, you could in theory hold blue, yellow, red and green with no problems. The only time in GH that's any different is in chords, where you have to play ONLY the shown notes.

Yeah I knew the theory, I just never use it. Same as the hammer on/off - I've never incorporated the advanced techniques into my "finger memory", instead just brute-forcing my way through.

But now I realise that for those alternating patterns it's MUCH easier to hold the lower note down. That little piece of information should get me 300k on Freebird.

Yeah what Babs said although by the time I realised this I'd played so much I'd trained myself to do it otherwise by alternating my fingers on the buttons ><

Quick tip for any who may not know - when you see notes which are consecutive but very near each other you only need strum on the first note !!!

Those are only for hammer-ons/pull-offs. They're easy to see as the note you don't need to strum for is missing the black ring around the white spot on the top of the note.

God I really should do the tutorials and read the manual if it covers all this stuff. This will make me alot better!

Like Yoshi says, I've trained myself to do the alternating finger thing but sometimes I just miss it so this should help, if only I knew before!

It's VERY hard to retrain Rossco - I'm still not entirely there !!!

You'll have to retrain as soon as you hit Hard anyway, those Orange notes will have you screaming in frustration as you try to move your hand about

Yeh but at least I've not been playing this for years/months like alot of you. Just 2 days! So I should manage. I put Hard of briefly to see what it was like earlier and its just shocking.

At least that means for oranges, you can just mash the whole set of buttons and still get it!
