Got this today for the 360 and just had a quick go on it.....pretty similar to the previous Spider-Man games released by Activision. Graphically the game is nothing outstanding, everything is nice and "clean". Nothing really stands out, imagine the Superman Returns graphics but with more detail and sheen. Honorable mention also goes to the draw distance, while swinging you can see buildings way off in the far distance.
Gameplay wise as I mentioned before if you are familiar with previous Spider-Man games you should be right at home with this. X (light attacks), Y (heavy attacks) and B (grapple attacks) deal with the in-game combat and you can mix them up for a variety of combos. A lil variety is added to the combat so that it doesn't get to stale, when a foe tries to attack you a little yellow symbol comes above their heads alerting you to dodge (hold LB) and then you get an on-screen button press prompt which if you press quickly enough you can counter attack them....a nice little addition I thought. Swinging is initiated by pressing the right trigger then holding it while you push the left stick in the direction you want to swing, you can continously swing around by repeatedly doing this but obviously you need to be near buildings to attach to. Lastly you can also jump by using the A button and use the Spidey Sense by clicking the right stick, but this only lasts for a limited time. You upgrade each elememt of Spider-Man's abilities as you progress through the missions, I played a couple of missions and already upgraded twice.
Mission wise the first two are just tutorial missions (which are voiced over by a extremely sarcastic yet funny guy) getting you used to the controls of the game and then you are let loose into the main game. The first mission was just a simple errand mission (go to point A, then to point B and so on), I assume the missions get more deeper as you progress. That is all I played of the game at the moment as I didn't want to ruin the film for myself, but will post more impressions as I progress through the game.
