Those are also some broad assumptions. Huge portions of the multiplayer are being held back and we know next to nothing about the single-player campaign (which is where most of the meat will be for people who aren't on Live or don't frequent it often).

In other words, to criticise Bungie for lacking imagination at this point is ever so slightly jumping the gun.

It's an odd thought that I may have to go back to other games now, any gaming time I've had lattely has been spent on the beta ! How people have not enjoyed this is beyond me, for a pre production game it has been just sublime, and puts most full priced MP titles to shame ! Yes it's an evolution of Halo 2, but what on earth did people expect

Like VF5 or PES6, Halo 3 isn’t a radical departure from its prequel. It doesn’t need to be and its fans don’t want it to be.

I was very impressed with the Beta. I got more play from it (and I played 125 games or so –quite a few less than many here) than a lot of full priced games. And it was free.

The enthusiasm in this forum for it died down a bit towards the end, but given how limited it was (no proper customs, only 3 maps) it is hardly surprising that after 3 weeks people wanted to play something else. Especially as a couple of other big games were released.

Couple of things they need to do IMO :

Re balance the carbine and BR - from the updates it sounds like this may of already happened !

Tone down or remove the needler - It is just such a cheap no skill weapon now ! Same goes for the duel weildables as well for me, the game feels tactical and skillfull until some guy rips around for easy kills with the duels !

I also think the heavy weapons need a rethink especially the gun turret, yeah the speed balances it a bit, but it still seems a bit of a easy kill machine.

Deployables are all good, the power drainer could do with a bit more distance when thrown to me though, just a bit further when you jump throw it.

The other thing I would do is change the way grenades work. I think you should be allowed a total of 6, but can hold whatever types you like to make that total i.e. 6 frags or 4 spike and 2 plasma - rather than 2-2-2.

All small things, well apart from the first two, but would bring more balance to the game for me !

I'll miss thee Halo 3. Really enjoyed it and the last month for me has just purely consisted of Halo 3 play. Really can't wait to see Halo 3 again in its final and polished form, will all the features to take advantage of!

Try playing Halo 2 again. I challenge anyone to say H3 isn't a real improvement. I'll get used to it but man, taking it away from us is cruel.

I really thought they'd leave the theatre part accessible, I'd backlogged loads of movies to keep me going.

Went back to Halo 2 last night, amazing how much better at 3 I was than I am now or have ever been at 2

Yeah. Happens in music and film too though. Some people want more of the same, others want something new. It'll always be that way.
