OMG!
I cannot believe that the local bowling alley has this machine! Was walking about playing all of the usual stuff such as Virtua Cop III (still rocks) and played Ghost Squad for the first time, and as I was just strolling about...a flash of yellow caught my eye...2SPICY ARCADE MACHINE IN BRUM! (Broadway Plaza Megabowl!)

Must have sank about ?4 into this machine, and it really is a unique light gun game. It's so weird having to shoot AT your mate, rather then playing co-operativley.
Should have took some photos\video of the machine really, it looks great.
The VS aspect of this works so much better then you think you it would, laughing and a shouting a plenty.
To reload you shoot off screen, to hide behind cover you do the same so when you do take aim at the screen again you pop out, and using the LEFT and RIGHT peddles makes your character run to the next piece of cover.

Both players are equally spaced and have the same amount of cover. Some stages have you parallel to each other, while other stages are curved. Stages I came across were an underground car park (parallel stage), a desert petrol station (curved..I think) and a rain swept cargo ship.
Idea of the game is simple really, kill the other dude in a best of 2 out of 3 rounds. ^_^ All of the cover is destructible, and there is plenty of warning "!!!!" when it is about to be destroyed so you can make your escape. If you don't move in time, you take extra damage from the cover being destroyed.

Standing behind explosive barrels obviously is a bad idea.
I chose the dude with the machine gun, and my mate chose the fat biker with a shotgun called Laurence or something. :xd:
Now, this fat dude is TOUGH. a couple of clean shots will finish off the other character no problem. But the downside is, HE IS SO FAT! So fat, that any piece of cover my mate tried to hide behind was pointless, as you could him practically from anywhere as his arse was so big. xD Fat dude runs behind a pillar, run to the left a bit...let rip with 25 bullets to teh BUTTOCKS. xD 1/4 energy gone!
Love the "Zoom Shot" in this. If you keep the gun pointed in one area of the screen for a few seconds, it zooms up for a stronger shot. If you manage to catch someone in the head, BOOM! They are knocked off their feet and take heavy damage. You can also apparently...Zoom Shot people in the NUTS! xD

Downside of this is if the other player runs to the opposite end of your zoom and can do the same to you! When the zoom occurs, you basically have tunnel vision, and unless you take a sneaky look on the other screen you are a sitting duck. To get out of the "Zoom Shot", you just press one of the peddles...or get shot.
Really simple to pick up and play and I can't believe it?s taken someone this long to think about 1 vs. 1 light gun game. Best thing about it is, when you do finish playing your mate, your credit carries on to the single player game.
Surprised me that did, especially this day and age.
If this was in my ****ty little Megabowl, it should be in everyone?s local cinema and bowling complex by now. Deffo worth a go if you see it, guaranteed laugh.
