    Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s

The Missus picked this up form her work today and has been steadily ploughing through it all night

Presentation wise it's very similar to GH2 but with different colours, plus apart from the new character models and a few stage accessories for each stage, you'd be hard pressed to notice the difference tbh.

...But it's all about the tunes right?

She was playing through on Hard and tended to struggle a bit on GH2 on that setting, but she has been getting 5 stars first time on this so i assume it's a lot easier (although that could be due to the time period).

I'm not sure what i think to this, i loved the previous two, but with only 30 tracks and Activision's attitude to XBLA tracks i can't help but think this could've been fleshed out a little more...

    Missus loves it though

Edit: the end text contains the word 'spazzfest', might be an idea to snap it up quick lol

You're not off on the difficulty supposedly, other people have said it's easier to get through than before...

I've read that the difficulty is perfectly pitched this time.

I'll be getting this tonight - I can't wait for 360 confirmation I must play Twisted Sister with a beer.

Helmet is lending me a guitar and in return he gets the disc and guitar in a few weeks.

      WIN WIN

      I AM VERY EXCITED

        haha! Gotcha!

        *smug*

Let me know scores etc.. It does seem alot easier, but I suppose some of the 80's songs weren't quite so complex. But what do I know.

Tell me how good the tunes are - from reading on the muk last night I was getting almost as excited as the PS3 owners over that MGS4 footage

This was meant to be delivered today, I got an email from Gameplay yesterday to say it had been dispatched, but due to the postal strike up here, there's no sign of it

It doesn't seem to be getting great reviews anywhere but I love the 80's and TBH I'll just be glad to be able to play ANYthing new for Guitar Hero; must have played some of the songs from the first two games hundreds of times.

Depends what you mean by that... someone I know completed Expert first attempt on every song, scoring 5 stars on all but two songs...

Doesn't sound too good for me then, think I may have to hold out for Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3. Also dont fancy dragging the PS2 out again.

I can't help but think i'd feel less short-changed if these were the XBL DLC released over the months since GH2 360, then compiled onto a ps2 disc like this.

Activisions empty promises have turned me cold to GH3, first 'genre specific' expansions then decent, frequent downloads, both have evaporated into ugly or expensive mistakes.

£19.99 RRP for this would've made it a must have as there's some cracking tunes, but for thirty quid...i dunno...bit lightweight tbh.

I've come to the conclusion this'll be GH3 DLC for 360 not GH2 - GH2 will be stuck with GH1 DLC for its lifetime

As such, although I haven't done so yet I'm still sorely tempted to pick this up tomorrow......

I still would as judging by your posts on here ur quite the GH fan, just don't go expecting much more than a glorified expansion pack

I brought GH2 into work today and everybody had an absolute hoot playing it in the office chillout room - was really wierd seeing 10 people sat round a big plasma giving it large.

As such, somebody purloined the disc & guitar off me for the weekend so I'm now able to justify 80's
