Got this today via the swiftness of Fedex.
Haven't played too much so far, but from what I have played, I can confirm that it plays frickin ace.
Everybody's Golf series has always brought the right game of golf to my console. While I do play and enjoy the Tiger Woods series, the button press based swinging system (old school you might say), wins my vote.
However, this time ClapHanz have implemented a new swing system that still retains the button pressing system. Press the button to begin the backswing, as the club raises, it momentarily flashes at 50% and 100% power. You can repeat the backswing providing you don't press anything, to help get a better idea on where you want to be stopping the backswing.
On the downswing, a large-ish circle surrounds about an inch and half of outside of the ball. The circle starts to decrease, increasing in speed. You have to stop the circle as it gets to between the recommend marks around the ball.
The new system works really well.
Graphically, it's what you'd expect to see in a Minna No Golf title. Super deformed-ish quirky type characters all over the shop. Not much to comment on except that it all looks great in HD.
Online: There have recently been a little worry from rumours that there might be a region lock out for the online aspect of the game, but after testing it, I can confirm that I got on with no problems whatsoever.
The way it's play online is a little strange. You join a lobby and then you put your name down for one of many constantly generated tournements. You sign up, then you wait in the lobby until that time comes, then you join and play.
Luckily, the lobby is presented as a big room holding up to 50 people (beforehand you would of created an online avatar) all chatting and jumping about (you can even double jump(?)).
Once in a tourney, you'll be playing holes against 49 other people and as far as I could tell from my one go, shots (or maybe the hole) is timed!
I need to look into it more. In fact I need to look into the whole game more. Seems to be lots to unlock too!
Overall, my first impressions of this are that it's aces. Also, don't fear about the large scoops of Japanese text that's featured in the game as a few of us here have banged heads together and translated some essentials....
