I'd say it's pretty fixed. I've tended to get the course membership card every time I've played a new course for example.

Yeah, I don't think you'd need to replay anything to get all the items as you can't get duplicates. It looks like you get duplicates of the clubs, but you're actually getting them for different sets of characters, so I think that by the times you win all the stages, you'll have got everything.

I will be picking up the US release too and maybe the PAL release at some point down the line (when they are reduced or second hand)

What's the difference between the FULL shots and the normal power shots?

Does the challenges get harder im finding it a tad too easy and im up to the 3rd row in the challenge mode.

Thats the problem I've had so far. All of the four tiers so far have been very easy, so the lack of challenge leads to mistakes and not feeling a need to fully master the game.

When I then try to play online I get thrashed because I'm not used to having to birdie almost every hole.

Looking forward to the challenge starting to ramp up a bit further through the game.

Golf is always about you vs the course for me, so I try to get the best score possible each round regardless of the AI scores. The course setups certainly get more difficult later on, more so if you stick with the likes of Suzuki off Intermediate and Championship tees.

You got that right, I don't bother with what the AI is doing unless its a vs mode

Percentage golf is the way to play, fairways and greens etc. I try to hit every fairway even if it means taking less club as it gives you a better chance of hitting the green and setting yourself up for a birdie

I am using the second character on the intermediate level at the moment (male with shades) but that will change once I get Shigeki Maruyama

I recommend importing this for the PS3 and not waiting for a USA/UK version. The awful boxart for the USA versions would put me off for a start. The UK boxart is not as bad for some of the games but when the UK version will turn up is anybodys guess.

In America the series is called Hot Shots Golf. The USA boxart for games is often dire but these are some of the worst. They rival Megaman 1 on the NES.

You recommend importing just because you don't like the box art?! Sorry, but you are just impatient. Anyway, if the box art puts you off "for a start"...what else puts you off about the UK version (apart from the wait)? So sad.

If you are unable to birdie most holes, even in single player, then clearly you are not good enough, and thus will be unable to rise to the challenges later in the game.
