question about online...

..I joined a room that only had 7/50 people in it but couldn't start the game. Are there other filters and restrictions in place for some of these games?

Did you make sure that the tournament you wanted to join had spaces left or that it hadn't started. Just becasue there are only 7 people in the lobby doesn't mean that you can enter the tournaments as you can book in for one and then leave only to return a few mins before it's about to start

When you do the new method, it feels like a really good contact when it works. It really is an involving game and it also feels very fair. I need to practice a lot more to get my power regulation sorted as I am alright with the putter power (if not the direction!) due to the pips but on the standard clubs, I feel very poor at the 60-90% range. I use the triangle and x to adjust a bit more but I cannot seem to get my timing quite right.
What are people's fave characters? I really like Suzuki from the early batch - some of his celebrations are top drawer and still make me smile.

Ah, I'd forgotten about triangle and X to change the power, which is which?

My Dad walked past when I was playing this yesterday and commented "looks more realistic than the Wii Golf, wish that stupid women would stop blabbering though".

what do you mean change the power?

I press [] to change to power shots and thats about it

At impact point, you can press triangle to slightly raise the power (presumably not above 100&#37 and X to lower it slightly. If you wanna get 50% but over shot a little, pressing X lower it a little to get the 50%. Not sure how much by though.

HA HA. If you are a power ninja, you don't need it but it just allows you to tweak the power - check it out on the training.

This is what the game should be about, sharing tips and ideas. Anyone up for some online tonight?

He means you can increas or decreas the power of your shot slightly by pressing a button other than the default X

Ok, actually getting into an online game is becoming a pain in the butt. Why have they do it this way? Finding a game that is not full and has no character/equipment restrictions is proving to be an impossibility. By the time you've buggered around in the lobby's trying to find an avaialble game starting imminently - I quite often just miss them on timing. Just finding a game and starting to play online is WAAAAAY too convuluted. I hope they change th system for the EU release. Maybe it's a translation issue and I'm missing something obvious? Oh and can I host a proivate lobby and invite friends off my friends list?? I can't find anything that would suggest that I could. Fantastic game - but the online system seems painfully flawed. Would be better if they even had each lobby offset by just 5 minutes each rather than loads of games starting at the same time. They should also include a "Quick Find" option that simply finds me an availble game that I can actually join. Grrr. Apart from that the offline game is awesome.

So it looks more realistic? Leaderboard on my old Amstrad CPC464 looked more realistic than Wii Golf...but that's not the point. Wii Golf is, being brutally honest, crap. It looks crap, plays crap, and is just a pile of crap. Everybody's Golf, on the other hand, is a fantastic game in all regards. Dad = doofus.

You should be able to host a game later in the month when the VS mode goes live

I haven't had any trouble getting into any games at all, if they are full I just book into a game that has slots available and go and play the single player until 10 min before it is due to start and then rejoin the lobby

Cleared Tier 7 now and unlocked the final course, wasn't expecting to get it till Tier 9 though, but I am not complaining

The tournaments are getting tougher now and I am having to shoot -4 and better to win most of them.

Wii Golf is a tech demo showing you what the Wii can do. You can't compare it to other golf games as its not fair to do so.

For a decent Wii golf game try Super Swing Golf or Tiger Woods 07.

Everybodys Golf 5 is a top game and Id recommend the Japanese/Asian version as the charm will be taken out of the western version. I also like the voices when the caddy says stop when the ball is rolling away is great.

To be honest there is no Asian version proper when you think of it. If you look at the version of EG5 in the Asian packaging on the media side of the disc you can see the serial number(is that the right word?). Its the Japanese number even on the Asian discs. BCJS for example is a Japanese game number(Number on Resistance I think), BCAS Asian BCUS USA/Canada and BCES Europe.
