Been playing this a lot this evening - it's definitely not a game that's fair to noobs, but overall, I've enjoyed playing this more than the Halo 3 beta, which I just found frustrating in the end.

I like the customisation as you level up, and the custom class creation once you've gotten to LC, the 2 v 2 stuff is excellent, and the team objective stuff too. The only thing that's really anoying are the spawns, which will happily place you in the line of fire.

I don't think this'll replace R6 Vegas as my favourite online shooter, but it's close, and for a beta it seems to be very stable - it's defo one on my purchase list.

Put in for the code at about 3pm by firstly registering on Gamespot UK, got the code via email to download CoD4 MP Beta at about 5pm. Definitely the best method. Gotta download this 'mutha now!

Really enjoying this, but its a pretty harsh learning curve for someone who's coming in at the bottom and playing with guys at level 16.

It's a beta, so I would think so unfortuneately, like someone else said, if someone found a way to exploit the leveling system then it would be unfair if id added over to the final game.

Yeah I played this for the 1st time today & got my arse kicked big time.
The eye candy is amazing & for a moment I just stood there & soaked in the surroundings, then I got plugged!!
The leveling up is a brilliant idea though, & I am improving the longer I play & because I'm finding which weapons work best for me.

Is it me or is the sniper rifle a bit hit & miss? I've aimed directly at the top body/head of a non moving target several times & its taken a few shots to finally kill. This has happened on a number of occassions.

Could anyone tell me if this game is like GRAW 2 or is it better, or are they 2 totally different games?

Oh, & does anyone know how long the beta is going to last b4 they cut it?

GRAW and CoD are totally different mate. CoD multiplayer is much much better.

Anyone know why I keep on getting an "unable to confirm Xbox live details" error whenever I try and download the beta?

If I'm destined to spend the launch day without Halo then I at least want something to be spending my time with.

Try the cod4 website and see if there's anything in the FAQ about it. I didn't get any errors apart from "your hard drive is full of 2 years worth of tiger woods demos you haven't played yet you tit" or something to that effect.

I checked the site and couldn't see any sign of it. Email [email protected] and explain it to them, they should turn it around pretty quick.

Turns out I got the error message slightly wrong - the one in question actually meant I wasn't a gold subscriber so the ****ing thing wouldn't download.

Apparently it wouldn't let me download it after using up my 48 hour gold code either, which has me even more annoyed.
