    That is super retarded.

Considering how tightly connected every part of the Halo machine is, it seems stupid to have a big part like that totally separate and somewhat worthless.

Oh well, cheers for clearing it up guys!

And considering how amazingly cool it looked with humans and Covenant everywhere it would have been great to see it in action.

I was hoping the chief would get a send off like that museum diorama showed, hundreds of soldiers watching, battle about to be lost, everyone thinks he is dead and BOOM, he jams a grenade in a brutes mouth and takes him down with him... but alas, Microsft and Bungie could not kill off their money printer that is SPARTAN-117.

If anyone else feels the same as this then you MUST read the novel 'Ghosts of Onyx'. Dont want to spoil anything but it has IMO the best and most memorable death scene EVER... it should have been the Chiefs TBH.

PS. Gerry I want my book back

It's kind of cool how Onyx

ties quietly into the later stages of Halo 3, actually. Nothing which damages the narrative - just subtle nods and pointers.

It's kind of cool just how F'ING AWESOME the novels are.

          Except The Flood.

I was listening to the latest GFW podcast and they were saying that they don't 'get' Halo. They like the game but don't care for the story.

I know this **** ain't Shakespeare but for me this is one of the better stories in the world of games. Perhaps it isn't told in the best way but I totally dig the universe, the characters and the plot.

And I don't mind admitting that I was welling up at the end

before we find out he's alive

and that makes it the second ever game that has moved me like that. The end of MGS 3 being the second.

          With regards to the ending:

Could Bungie's Peter Jackson project be the rest of the Spartans escaping the Onyx story and then mounting a rescue of the Chief? Could it also be the project the lead multiplayer designer of GRAW has been hired to do? So could it be a GRAW/R6 type squad shooter with the other Spartans finding the Chief? Insta Boner if true.

Also, did you notice that Cortana's ramblings before you find her are either the same as or very similar to some of Dr. Halsey's lines in the novels? Sorry if it has already been mentioned.

Yes, yes, YES... there was so many little sublte things that linked to the novels and it was great being able to appreciate them.

Like some of Cortans early ramblings in the game are from the SPARTAN training programme when the Chief is just young. It is the stuff that is said to the children at the start of the programme.

Its great when you see little gems like that crop up.

TBh, the ending didnt get to me as much as the end of MGS3 and certianly nowhere near as much as 'Ghosts of Onyx'.

Chopemon - If anything you mentioned there about the film and future games tieing in with the other SPARTANs that WOULD make me cry. The potential with the novel story arc is tremndous.

            Ghost of Onyx spolier -

Kurts death eclipses anything I have seen or read in films, games or books and will take something very special to be beaten.

Why do I have to hold a direction on the D-pad if I want to speak to my teamates? I've been playing online a bit now after completeing the campaign, and this really annoys me...

Who else is getting annoying lag (when playing with Americans) in Shotty Snipers?

This isn't just "sour grapes", even although my connection meter is nearly all green, I've literally been hitting guys with 3 bullets in a row and they often don't die. I get better luck if they're moving and I overshoot slightly and aim too far to the left or right but that's a bit crap to be honest.

A real pain, nearly all my kills in this game type are with the shotgun or grenades.

Is it not to stop the enemy team hearing you?

maybe, but I could swear that my team weren't hearing what I said, I asked them by pushing the D-pad and then they responded but it was all crackling up. Does anyone know what's wrong with what i'm doing or what's happening?

Must have been a bad reception mate, that can happen with these crappy comm things they make us use... I swear if the enemy knew how ****e our equipment was they would launch a full attack right away... ****en Government cutbacks

I had a few problems last night with it aswell, basically I wasn't talking as soon as I opened the channel and it would close before I had said anything, so I would be talking to myself. Having to take your finger off the stick in the heat of battle just to make a call is a bit annoying.

If it was on the PS3 they could have activated the comm by shaking the pad brilliant!!

If there're 4 or less on a team you don't need the D-pad. If there's 5 or more you press the D-pad once and speak and it ends comms when you've finished automatically.

It's so you don't get 8 people shouting all at once and slowing down the connection.

At least that's what I've been told.

At risk of getting lost in the sea of posting here, I need to ask: has anyone else noticed a wierd blue aura around certain textures / objects in this game on an LCD or other HD set?

I think it might have just been interference from my 360 as I had it standing right next to my new LCD. I moved it away and it seems to have cleared up but I just wanted to make sure it's not either something wrong with my telly or a Halo 3 video issue

Cant say I've noticed anything mate and have played through the whole campaign and plenty of live.

I think it might have just been interference. I've moved my 360 away from the telly (it was standing right next to it) and the weirdness has gone.

I can't believe the HALO3 musical score I'm hearing. It's an absolute disaster.
