Blows my mind how it works - I mean 16 player online games with grenades, vehicles and all sorts of **** flying about and it all seems to be captured - If it had been the last 60 seconds I'd have been impressed but whole 30 minute games or 1 hour plus 4 player co-op campaign missions being fully watchable is just bonkers.

all the theater really does is record all the actions the players do, all the physics etc, basicly it's a log of everything that happened and then the engine just jams those numbers back in and the end result is what seems to be a replay.

pc games have been doing it for ages, see quake demos, half-life demos, doom demos etc etc etc, it's fairly simple. also most sports games worth their salt have a replay feature that works the same way, it's just a case of now we have hard-drives as semi-standard on consoles you have way more storage to put the logs in.

oh and pgr4 does feature something similar iirc.

Ok, restarted this on Heroic. Now starting level 7/8 (just finished the one with lots of tanks and a scarab). Different game altogether now. Best Game Ever? No. Best Halo Ever? Without doubt

NB: Some things still aren't quite right though. Stuck allies for instance

Ah the whole 'AI being great' thing is a complete myth. The allies are absolute idiots and the enemies are great at shimmying or running around aimlessly and that's about it. I can hide behind a rock, walk out right in front of enemies just a couple of feet away, take a few shots and walk back behind the rock and, for some reason, they never seem to figure out my big secret - I'm behind the rock!

But, yeah, Heroic is great. Though I found the first level the hardest so far. Still haven't completed it though. Just at the

I completed this on Sunday and enjoyed it. I didn't really know what was going on having not played the first two, but any game that lets you shoot an alien in the face with a laser is ok by me.

Was playing this on co op last night having a blast and then suddenly it started juddering as if there was a bit of lag. Anyway tried to pick up where we left off today but it's lagging really badly again.

How can it be running perfectly one minute and then not the next? I'm only on 2meg broadband but my mate is upto 8meg so i can't understand it.

It's really pissed on my parade as i wanted to complete in co op before i head into death matches
